  1. Thank you all for watching, and for the great feedback on this series of 'Captain's Log" videos! Please don't forget to push that little thumbs up button, it helps YouTube recommend us to others 🙂 Much love!!

  2. 8-3/4 minutes went by fast because of the narrative ability you possess. Yeah, this is a redundant comment, but it is not a flaw in my character. Another thought – you must be a fav of Neptune. Army/Navy game is approaching. I'll let you know the outcome. :¬) Webhead USA

  3. Thank you Jamie. My wife and i are both really enjoying this series. It's kinda like reading a best seller that you just can't put down.
Stay safe guys, All respect and best wishes from West Oz.

  4. Love this “Captain’s Log” Series, it’s now the first thing that I look for! That Black hat has quite a history, I believe I even saw it at the Boat Show!!😂

  5. This series has been neat.

I like the artistic photography with the journal and the pen, the lighting and shadows are great. The narration is pleasing as well. The few episodes with the day to day shots leave me wanting more of those.

    All in all, excellent.

  6. I'm so surprised your viewership is down on this series. Maybe it resonates more with salts than to romantic dreamers. It's impossible to imagine 12 ft seas unless you've lived them. No imagery can drive home the impressiveness and the humility one feels in bigger seas. Regardless I feel you. Although.. I'll never own in mast furling. Tacking to reef sounds miserable. It does explain why I'm constantly repairing those systems lately though. Charter boats are crushing the goosenecks and sheering off pins in the furler. I thought people were just powering winching the outhaul… Apparently it's reefing on the wrong tack.

  7. JAMIE hello i see you have a lot of comments on your CAPTAINS LOG videos well done great stuff. one thing you should think about is voiceover work your voice reading your log book reminds me allot of MIKE ROWE give it a thought👍

  8. @1:35 you forgot to add the card. also, your tags could be improved for search engine optimization (SEO). For example, no need to tag 8 other sailing channels, as that is not specifically what your video is about, and those other channels are going to think you're trying to poach views from them by gaming your tags with their names. YouTube heavily accounts for your video’s first few tags when ranking content in their search results, especially the first tag. So make sure your first tag is the exact keyword you want to target. You don't want to put "sailor girl" for example, as your 4th tag if you don't have any women on board. You don't want "boat tour" as your 2nd tag as clearly this is not a boat tour.

  9. Good job on your verbiage and word usage. One day you might get to the level to wax poetic like ambiguousamphibian. It really helps understand the emotional aspect of a persons inner being when they use precise descriptive words. We do not see it in the modern age. The age of sail had some masterful writers. You and the Windhippy are the best ones to watch.

  10. James you must have kissed the Blarney stone for you have the gift of eloquence for sure, great story telling with exceptional articulation bro…..really enjoying this series. Safe travels out there James….cheers bro

  11. That’s a time-saver. The Captain logs video are always the same. The story is not.

Following you for years now. Just dumped Seattle for Florida.

Keep living the good life! Go Navy!

I was a Crew Chief on the F-16 in the USAF for a few years.

I love your videos! Keep it up Brother!

  12. Great video as always but upset to not see you sailing downwind as you were narrating ! For sure u were on a fetch with awa possibly 50-70 degrees. Sails were were not set downwind nor the wave direction or motion was downwind so hard to take this episode seriously as was almost like u turned up into wind and videod to make it more dramatic. What’s the story ?
