At one time I thought about buying a sailboat putting an electric motor in it a bunch of solar panels and a wind generator on it with batteries and just take it off and going around the world watching these videos has taken that dream away from me I'm not going to pay somebody to go to their country just to have my boat out in their Waters and then a lot of countries make you pay to leave so you got to pay to come in and pay to leave just to stay there for a couple of days or even just to stop and fuel up get water groceries or anything like that I thought it would be nice to cruise around the world but I'm seeing that it's just more of a pain in the ass if I buy a boat I'll just do the Great Loop around the United States where nobody will pay for ask me for papers and make me pay pay every time I go to a port because I know in the United States I can anchor my boat take my jeans to shore and it's not going to cost me $600 just to be in your town for a day or two

Many years ago I arrived in Mexico with an expired Irish passport , go figure . The family holiday for 5 was on the line . So I paid for an unofficial entry and watched the custom guys and police divide the money like $200 . No shame .
If you are unfamiliar with a country's Immigration requirements or rules, why not take an agent to deal with the shit.

A Seamans Log book, is for seaman on merchant marine ships, as crew may not know where their ships will stop to pick up cargo. Know the rules and it is simple, I have been to Jamaca several times and have never had a problem and found all officials helpful.

I'm a Jamaican and believe me we are warm welcoming hard working hospitable people. BUT the govt do nothing to welcome ordinary travelers and cruisers. Don't let the beaurocracy grind you down. The govt have sold off all the public beaches save one to foreign hotel chains who only want spanish looking employees and not regular jamaican workers. The gvt are actively trying to gentrify my homeland for the needs of rich foreigners. Who just want to own a home theyll stay in maybe a couple weeks of the year….And it hurts me in a way you could never imagine.
