Ventura California ne-a umplut inimile până la o capacitate despre care nu știam că există, motiv pentru care a făcut navigarea atât de greu. Am petrecut 4 ani făcând proiecte de ambarcațiuni DIY pregătindu-ne pentru această mare aventură și în sfârșit a venit momentul – un moment dulce-amărui plin de emoție și lacrimi. Ventura este primul loc în care ne-am pus cu adevărat rădăcini și vom purta întotdeauna o bucată din oraș cu noi în călătoria noastră – și nu doar pentru că este legal în documentația noastră USCG. Atât de multă dragoste fusese turnată în Avocet, era timpul să profităm de efortul în schimbul aventurii și aveam fereastra meteo potrivită pentru a face acest lucru.
