  1. The title says "To Do List" but it is really just our "MUST DO List" there are about 100 other things on our to do list but as any cruiser knows it is all about prioritizing to get off the dock. If you wait until EVERYTHING is done on your To Do List you will never leave. Also, we kept this video a little more Raw with no music at all, longer clips, and less cuts. What do you think? Would you have preferred some music in there?

  2. You are completely right about AIS.
For me AIS is like a social network – give and get.
Long time ago I went with friends sailing boat around England. We often had encounters with big ships. They all obeyed us and mad little adjustments to their course for us.

  3. Warning: These LED bulbs inside a navigation light is not to code. The old navlights were constructed to that expensive funny special bulbs with the glow wire strict in the middle – only with that bulbs they show the light at the defined angles. Think: the navigation bulb sends light from a very small point 360 degree. The Chinese LED bulb only emits some 20 degree.

  4. Okay I was impressed with all the knowledge of running the diesel engines. The electronics is a whole nother ball game. I'm way impressed. The battery conversion, the inverter, installing the AIS, just taking out the old electronics is a major accomplishment, refurbishing the kitchen, the master stateroom, the forward State room are all impressive accomplishments as well. Let's not even begin to discuss all the exterior work the two of you have done. Super impressive, not your run of the mill boat refurbishing projects. I imagine just the materials alone are in the tens of thousands of dollars. I'm very anxious to see a final tally of all the costs involved in the improvements. After that I I am anxious to see the number of man hours you both dedicated to this project. If possible try to add a dollar figure for your time. That has always been my downfall when trying to determine whether doing the project myself is worthwhile whether it is home renovation or boat upkeep/renovation. In the end you guys are doing fabulous work, far above any pay grade you may assign yourself.

  5. I love your guys show , i just wanted to say i think you should go with a galvanized shackle as the stainless shackle will be your weakest point i would be guessing 2k lbs. versus 10lbs. keep up the work it looks great….hope to see you out there someday,,, carlos

  6. Too funny! I love the communication between you two about who gets to cross what off the "To Do list". Doing that is so gratifying. (When you think about it, it might be enough to harm a relationship between two people if one of the partners was too greedy about crossing off too many items..

  7. Your one hundred boat with all you have put into its more million dollar boat these days , and your to do list wright feed the dog twice daily !!..You guys did a awesome job restauring this boat . Thanks ..

  8. On your last video I saw you steering from upper helm. It did not look comfy. My solution is a wired or remote control for the auto helm. I once had a simrad wired remote that was fantastic. In addition to the regular features it had a steering only mode where the rotary knob in your hand was basically like holding the tiller in your hand. Each click on the knob was one degree of rudder. It had a rudder angle readout, and you could easily steer in rough waves with this set up. It was like sitting anywhere you want and having tiller in your hand

  9. Lucky girl got yourself a real man confident, tackles all things with logic and can do attitude and takes pride in doing it right instead of some jerk off with to many tattoos wearing shirts to small with his chest puffed out and doesn’t know what end of a hammer to hold onto

  10. Lots of comments from new subscribers that are surprised and impressed with Billy’s technical knowledge and mechanical skill. If you think this episode is impressive go back in the Tula archives to a much earlier episode when Billy overhauled his old Diesel engine in his cockpit while on the hook—solo. That hooked me on their adventure. Who would ever dismount their diesel auxiliary lift it into the cockpit onto 2×4’s and then tear it down are rebuild it before dropping it back into place. Yup, that’s our Billy. Sierra, what episode was that?
