In acest episod am fost imbarcati de vama la ancora. Ce poți aduce și ce nu poți aduce în Panama? Când am încercat să ne facem check-in, ni s-a spus să ne întoarcem la BE FREE și să fim în carantină până când suntem autorizați… Vama a fost de fapt destul de politicoasă și prietenoasă. Totuși, de data aceasta, căpitanul portului mi-a spus că trebuie să ies și eu din Bocas cu un Zarpe înainte de a naviga spre cartierul Colon. Ni s-a spus chiar că trebuie să mergem la aeroport pentru ștampile de ieșire de pe pașapoarte. Din fericire, personalul de la vama și imigrare aeroport este ceva mai calificat și actualizat. Acolo ne-am confirmat. Nu este nevoie de ștampile de ieșire acolo, și cred că nu aveți nevoie de un Zarpe din Bocas, atâta timp cât navigați în Panama. Îmi place foarte mult Bocas del Toro și am vrut să-i arăt lui Gee o mulțime de locuri frumoase în scurta noastră escală în drum spre Shelter Bay Marina. Din păcate, toată această nebunie suplimentară ne-a furat o mare parte din timpul nostru aici și chiar am ales să mergem cu o zi mai devreme, deoarece ne-am cam pierdut interesul pentru Bocas de data aceasta. Am mai călătorit în lume și am fost, de asemenea, un navigator activ de regate. Am avut prima mea barca cu pânze la vârsta de 7 ani și de atunci navighez. De asemenea, peste 10 ani de experiență în căutare și salvare pe mare în Norvegia. VA RUGAM SA FITI AMABILI IN COMENTARII! Sunt doar o persoană normală care împărtășește aventura mea de călătorie prin ochii mei și experiența din perspectiva mea! Amintește-ți cum fac lucruri care ar putea funcționa pentru mine, dar nu și pentru tine. S-ar putea chiar să nu fie modul corect de a face lucrurile și nici eu nu am planul. Nu sunt perfect și nimeni nu este. În ziua în care cred că știu totul și nu cred că pot învăța lucruri noi, ar trebui să plec la țărm.

Me I would have just left. What could the pork captain do? I'll never come back there again and what she going to do. Call Panama and say hey. He just left Panama. He's going to Panama? Clearly that money is going right in her pocket. They're all a bunch of crooks down there. The one thing I'm learning from you is to avoid Panama at all cost

Could be recent transients bending, ignoring or out right disrespecting local laws & culture.
Could be distaste's in YouTubers not really showing more interactions inside the areas vs only beaches and water

New Port Captain?
Maybe she doesn't know the procedures so she is trying to go by the book, but hasn't learned it all yet. Often new people don't want to look new so they act very official and sure of what they are saying, even when you show them what the rules require. But it is better to go along with them because making them look bad will always cause us bigger problems.
A good place to avoid for some time until she gets comfortable in the job.
The people working with, or under her probably know more about the regulations than she does but they know it is much better to do what she says, no matter how stupid it is. Customs inspection 10 hours after arrival? Common sense people see that is ridiculous, but not everyone has common sense.
Scams are a little annoying BUT when they right the rules ?
illegals can pour into the the usa, get free everything and thats no problem…. how dare you sail a boat some where tho.
Imagine the amount of money that corrupt port Captain has pocketed from tourists?

This is named corruption in any country.
Is the Port Captain new to his position? While the Zarpe is understandable as it’s required in many countries between ports including Colombia and DR, the notion that you would clear Immigration really shows the Port Captain’s ignorance. It’s amazing how many areas throughout the Caribbean are suddenly becoming cruiser unfriendly as bureaucracy and money grabbing take over. The huge spike in mandatory mooring ball fees in Bonaire is another example. Sad.

When my wife and I were cruising the Baja and the west coast of Mexico, it was 100% normal to have to check in and out of each harbor as we moved around. We looked at it as it was a privilege for the Mexican government to allow us access to their beautiful country when all we had to do was play by their rules.
