That looked like a hell of a hit that yacht took! Looking forward to seeing the rest of your trip, I did a very similar trip last year solo too. When did you do this trip, mine was late September?
Great sailing
Where were you leaving out of on this trip? Great video.
I’m pretty sure my boat was faster and sailed better as well 😜
The force that yacht hit wow…there's no way that it didn't sustain huge damage and definitely needs identified. As if they didn't give a rats there n then, they definitely won't trying to sell her on.. Great sailing … Looking forward to more vids 😁
Alex Great video Looks like good Saling enjoy the rest of the sail. 👍👍👍👍
Love this channel
Great sailing, thanks for posting the calamity that befell the other yacht. Look forward to seeing your trip to Lulworth Cove. Haven’t been there since 1990.. ouch too long😂
Enjoyed watching your sail in those waters. Thanks.
The ST2000+ is good at handling gusts.
Calibration has no effect, you only do that to compensate for magnetic variation and deviation. Look into the seastate settings.
Also, when under autopilot reef earlier than you would do normally.
Look into chapter 6 of the manual.
Hi Alex, whereabouts do you anchor off Hurst Castle? Is it quite protected there? In your video it looks like quite alot of current running.
Hi Alex. Great vid as ever. Your autopilot should be horizontal for best results when working. ‘Can’t tell from the vid. Happy sailing. 😊
Slick trailer. Did you build it?
Thanks for giving me a boost of nostalgia. Way back in the 80ies and 90ies my brother & I had a trail sailor very similar to yours. We kept her on a mooring at Itchenor so Chichester harbour in thqt kind of weather and drying out at East Head brings back a lot of memories. Especially as I have been living far away in the Philippines for 25 years!
Chichester is really tricky for people who aren't familiar with the shifting banks.
I ran aground there on an uncharted sand bank last August
New subscriber, great video mate thanks for sharing.

Perfect example of why you should never buy a used boat with a bolt on keel…. someone is going to eventually buy that one, and there is no way to truly know how weakened the keel attachment structure is now, and yes, keels do sometimes fall off and there have been fatalities.
I was crewing on a yacht that hit a bar. We all had to sit on one side to lean it off!
Loving your videos. I also need to step the main from time to time. You make it look easy.As an alternative to the tiller pilot, have you considered a wind vane self steering. That may allow you to manage those gusts since the wind vane keeps you on your point of sail rather than the heading.
Hi Alex I've just subscribed… I like the idea of a mini trailer sailer the trips you do.. never sailed before but loosely thinking about it. What is your sailboat (make etc)?
