Ahoy Kevin, once again thank you for actually showing your route! Presently the chart is right in front of me!
Be safe and enjoy cruising.
As usual nice vid on which I sail my dreams!! Cheers
Excellent video, Kevin! Your Code Zero is a Willis sail? Can you provide a link? We have a Westsail 32 and beyond ready to stretch her legs.
"After a while you won't even notice it." Except the grain goes the wrong direction! I was watching you holding that teak to it the wrong way and I kept thinking, surely he'll not put it in that way. But you did. Oh well. It still works. 🙂
Great video Kevin, Wanted to let you know that I enjoy your original sound tracks. I know there are only so many hours in a day, But I hope you get some time to do some recording soon.
A cold cerveza and chips with Mojo Isleño dip, a sitting sun and the ocean… damn Kevin!
Leaks on boats..Dontcha love em
👍👍👍
Glad you made it to Puerto Rico safely.
Thank you for another enjoyable video.
Nice to see you doing some things onshore. You should go to Coffin Island if you have time. Fair Winds!
I have been away. Thought you were in the Med!
Been to Culebra several times on boats very chill island. FYI the beach on the east side of the island was used to practice landings in World War 2 for assaults in the Japanese held islands in the Pacific. A great read for the area including Puerto Rico is Hunter Thompson's THE RUM DIARIES. Fair winds.
Hi Kevin, I remember you used penetrating epoxy, during your last haulout. In case this is useful for your next haulout, while building my wooden boat, I noticed this statement in the West Systems user manual: "There is a better solution [than adding solvents to epoxy] to get good penetration without losing strength or moisture resistance. We recommend moderate heating (up to 120 F) of the project area with a heat gun or heat lamp before applying epoxy. On contact with the warmed substrate, the epoxy will thin out, penetrating cavities and pores, and will be drawn even deeper into pores as the substrate cools. Although the working life of the epoxy will be considerably shortened, slower hardeners (206, 207, 209) will have a longer working life and should penetrate more than 205 Hardener before they begin to gel. When the epoxy cures it will retain all of its strength and effectiveness as a moisture barrier, which we feel more than offsets any advantages gained by adding solvents to the epoxy" (page 27).
You seem to be varying your content lately. Enjoying everything you are showing.
Kevin – fun evening at Cat. The dog in Salinas “greeted” me as well. Check out Little Bay right south of Black Point. Lyric
I've spent the last 8 months sailing and living on a sailboat because of your channel. From scratch. With no motor. And the information you have given me has saved my life and made things easier in general. I've seen a lot of people with sailboats, but few sailors like yourself. Thank you, for everything.
Two things: oil your tools and align the grain in the wood (it swells in one direction)
I think you need to spend a little more time in Latinamerika 🤔
Mañana can mean tomorrow, but it for shure means Not today 😂😂.
Thanks for the great video.
Cheers from Austria
Barking dog's drive me bonkers, I just don't understand how people can stand the continual noise. It's like their scared of silence and the rest of the world should put up with their lack of control give me the sounds of the wind in the trees or the hills or sea ⛵
