I have sailed in those conditions many times and really the only real new danger is to the sailing gear. However I don't set off into those conditions without really good reason, its meant to be fun EH!

Always a good idea to wear a safety harness if you think "we're gonna die", but it seems clickbait is more important than safety!

If you sail by 40 knts (around force 8) guys, you beter take off this bimini and other paraphernalia that creates windage which can turn very dangerous if somtrhing should happen.
Again this bimini fashion in sailing is absolutely useless on a sailing boat, except when it's not sailing.
Then again these people keep saying they don't like that and wear no harness nor life jacket !…

Yea, You guys should not have been out there in 40-50 knots. Why did u not stay till a calm in the storm ? Pick & schedule a better window.
Also – anything over 30 knots = EVERYONE Life Jackets on ! Secure everything.
