  1. Great to have you guys back, even if that delivery job just proved that owners don’t maintain their boats properly. And in-mast furling is the invention of a nightmare. 😂

  2. I have done a number of boat deliveries and have found that no matter how nice the boat looks, thorough systems and safety checks must be done before heading offshore regardless what the boat owner tells you. You were very lucky!!

  3. That's a pretty damned wonderful view to wake up to, right at the end!
Mahi-mahi = 1995 = honeymoon = Fiji = fishing trip = sushi = hapiness = rugby = the most friendly, strongest and wonderful people you're ever likely to meet, ever. And you thought it was just a fish. Did I mention happiness?

  4. So great to see another video! The real threat wasn’t from carbon monoxide, it was from swimming in the Bermuda Triangle. Did you not realize there are sharks and whales big enough there to jump out of the water and eat ENTIRE AIRPLANES!?!? It’s a miracle you weren’t swallowed whole.

    Loved, loved, LOVED this episode.

  5. The dubious gift of diesel exhaust is that the fluorocarbons will make you violently ill before the CO puts you into an eternal slumber. Not so cleaner burning fuels.

  6. I really liked the footage of the boat skimming across the water. Peaceful and beautiful. The two of you are a pleasure to watch. Keep smiling and sail on.

  7. Happy you're all safe I thought i was watching the wrong channel. The lazy maintenance and install can kill. just imagine that sail jamming in squall with the sail out.

  8. Beautiful trip. Really enjoyed the Atlantic blue. Sailors always keep viewers apprised of wind speeds and depth but nobody ever tells us what temperature they are experiencing. We never know if it’s balmy or chilly. When a squall comes, it looks cold but is it? Just a little chyron with an approximation would add so much to ours experience as viewers. 😉

  9. well that should be a career-ending mistake for the last person who touched those exhaust hose clamps – seems unacceptable but you guys mention it like "oh well" and PS…nice advertisement against in mast furling

  10. Nice couple of videos! Shows even well built really nice boats still develop problems, the downside of using someone elses boat I suppose is that you don't know how well it's been checked etc. Glad you all ended up safe and apart from the problems looks like you had a great trip!

  11. Noob question. I think I read somewhere not to leave your dingy on the Davits during a off shore passage, but like all things I imagine it depends. Noticed your dingy on davits so just wondering if it is safe normally to leave them there. Also thanks for the great content.

  12. Did a mid November delivery from Newport to St. Martin a few years back on a sister ship. What type of dance do you have to do to have such a "cruisey" passage! ?

How about that lazzerette? Big enough to live in, but with no tie down points to secure things like spare anchors and, emergency tiller and keep them from jumping around and beating on the hull–.

Rick Halstead: There is a reason why the owner hired a delivery skipper like you instead of doing the passage himself! He is afraid of being out of sight of land but smart enough to know that he doesn't know what he is doing!
