Honestly, my love for pop music started from this era in Rihanna's career along with Beyoncé's B'day (released in 2006). As a little queer child, I was mesmerized by Rihanna and how different she was compared to everyone else at the time. It was so fun making this video. Comment below your favorite tracks off the album. Mine are Shut up and Drive, Rehab, and Disturbia 💜
now sis you know we want a britney deep dive lol you gave tea i never knew about like afrodisiac inspiring gggb rihanna basically funding the whole album teeeaaaaa!
Too watch Rihanna blow up as big as she did & staying a fan believing in her. We don’t deserve her 😂. You have to go deep with the fashion too. She was giving us LOOOOOKS!
You’re gonna get a consistent audience if you keep this up! YouTube has currently been starving of this kind of content but I’ve noticed a lot of great pop culture content coming from a new wave of YouTubers. Keep it up, we appreciate the work that you put into this series!
Can you please do a video on Ciara.
Idk “A Girl Like Me” got regular play in my bedroom. It’s one of my favorite albums from Rihanna by far.
Her accent was so strong back then 🥹
That’s crazy. Rihanna had to put her own money into her Albion and music videos. From her own pockets. Normani did the same thing. She also had to pay out of pocket. For wild side. That’s crazy
Christina Milian??? Has noting to do with this video.. It's Amerie
I absolutely love and appreciate your videos and all your hard work, I honestly don’t know how they don’t have millions of views they’re so amazing ❤
When Umbrella came out Chris Brown was on 106 & Park saying he wrote that song and gave it to Rihanna because it would sound better from a girl. I knew his ass was lying.
I feel Rihanna is sorta our generation Janet Jackson, in my opinion I count good girl gone bad as her real first album because it was amazing.
I loved the ballads on a girl like me n all the tracks honestly. The first two albums were way better with time
We ride may be one of the best songs ever honestly
A girl like me being Rihanna's worst album but comparable to B'day? What an insult to Beyoncé lol, B'day is like top 5 in Beyoncé's discography
BRITNEY DEEP DIVE PLEASEEE
It was so cool to watch Rihanna show true shape shifting through Eras tbh, every album is totally different and shows how much a person can change. I remember everybody wanting to copy her during all of her eras
Does star quality – ‘light skinned, eyed’? So many interesting black girls out here dont get 2 ‘flop’ albums to develop into a ‘Supa star’
a girl like me is good I listened to it the other day
This is absolutely fake nonsense.
rihanna set out to make a skipless album with good girl gone bad, and that's exactly what she did!! when I was going through rihanna discography, i got to gggb and was gobsmacked. it's sooo good! especially compared to aglm. the start of her edginess here paved the way for her entire career. truly one of my favorite rihanna albums, it got me hooked for the rest of her albums
some of my fave tracks: say it, sell me candy, push up on me, don't stop the music, shut up n drive
I will always love you babe . My love has no number
You can stop asking if we want any other of your deep dives bc the answer is always yes 💯
I appreciate your account so much because you discuss black female entertainers like Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Nicki in a positive light and most pop culture commentators on YouTube only talk about white pop stars! I hope you continue this and when you’re done with your Nicki, Beyoncé, and Rihanna series you could do other artists like Ciara, Janet, Mariah, Doja Cat, and Megan Thee Stallion and their careers!
Nah Music of the Sun was waaaay better than Music of the Sun. Like an obvious improvement
This is a really good video. The only thing missing is the Kelis connection. Rihanna was very inspired by her as well.
