  1. The biggest problem I have with sailing is, from the ideas they put out there, I can't really see what the loop for getting xp would be. Sailing off to an island sure, but should anything you do on the island give sailing xp? I think not as its just doing other skills we already have… It really feels like it would fall down the hole that dungeoneering does where everything you do in it gives xp in skills we already have…

  2. the dungeonering pitch looks so cool, we will be able to explore the vast underground of gielenor, maybe figth cave trolls or fight cave muggers, farm crystals and so on
    core ingame loop looks sick aswell, you go into dungeon complete objectives and leave, so good
    definitely voting for this minigame

  3. I feel like the amount of work needed to pull of sailing isint doable. It's almost like them creating another game and integrating it to the live game. Same with the spirit world. I think expectations are high for what the devs can actually create. Do boats overlay like characters? The more I hear about these skills the more I wish we just had Bard as an option

  4. taming is hunter expansion, sailing is minigame, shamanism needs more explanation maybe reworking. best to go back to the drawing board and come back with better ideas. unless these 3 skills are our only choice then whatever really since they're all not great

  5. Honestly I used to think that sailing would be a great idea. But the more think about it, any activity or quest that is currently in the game that requires me to get on a boat, is soooo annoying and tedious. Sours the idea of sailing to me. Shamanism all the way. Don’t care about the rewards, I’d rather actively do something than just “spend time on a boat to get xp”

  6. Underwater caverns new monsters new skilling spots in the deep sea possible mini games that involve taking your ship to meet up with other ships to fight a giant sea monster . So much opportunity

  7. Sailing should not be a skill.. it should be an ACTIVITY! I want it in the game but not in the form of a skill. I’ll be voting yes to Shamanism. The rest of yas should do the same.

  8. Shamanism untradeables = summoning charm gathering – aka super boring and a massive pain…

    The fact sailing won’t be instanced is huge! Their round table video was great! I’m now much more in favor of that one cause being able to move around on your own ship that you can customize and sail with others sounds soooo cool! (And doesn’t involve unwanted power creep)

  9. Saeder. I love the sailing idea as well and the potential that it has. What I worry about is if Jagex will execute on that potential. Would they add the bosses? Would they add the raids? Are we sure they’ll add all these things? If so, how long will it take? Will it be years after it releases?

  10. Sailing seems the clear choice to me. Shamanism has promise, but needs a lot of work/rebranding. The name doesn’t fit osrs, even if the skill loop does.

  11. I'm still really torn between sailing and shamanism, both seem like they'd fit well into the world of gielinor and they're so different. Taming hard pass for me.

  12. Taming just seems like a knock off from playing a hunter in WoW.. same with shamanism idea, seems like they are pulling a lot of ideas from WoW.. I just don’t see the point in taming though since there are already “pets” in-game and especially no point if you can’t use them in combat, seems so pointless. Shamanism just feels like it shouldn’t be a skill at all. I gotta agree sailing is the way to go..

  13. Agree with sailing seems the most exciting so far, also shamanism i worry with power creep, and taming looks boring.
    Also @lore magic is just magic on osrs. But Humans are not naturally magic creatures so they need runes to use magic some other creatures don't need them.

  14. I find it odd that Tamming made it into the pitch, it supposedly came from community discussions, but I'm yet to see many people who actually like it??!!! I was team Shaman but I'm team sailing now, Though I would prefer more than 3 pitches if I'm honest, We didn't vote for 3 options, feel kinda scammed

  15. Honestly had the same opinion, these q&a streams really sold me on Sailing. I think out of the three proposals, Sailing is just the most polished due to the years of feedback from the community. Like in terms of a high level overview, there's nothing I'd change with their Sailing pitch they nailed it. Like I think refinement for Sailing is really just a matter of coming up with some cool ideas for content. While Taming is absolutely my favorite theme, I think it could undergo the same process Sailing did where we get years of suggestions for what that skill looks like. Only one skill can come into the game this year, and I think Sailing is just the most ready.

  16. I think the problem with Shamanism is that they want to make a non-buyable production skill. That puts it in this awkward place of like having to be gathering-production because they don't want to tie the resource gathering into an existing skill like Hunter because then you're forced to retrain that skill just to train Shamanism, but if they made all resources untradeable it'd be like charm gathering. So now they're suggesting partially buyable. I think as a theme it's cool, but this is another idea that just needs to stew in the players minds for a while. I think if it were to go into refinement today, it's the one that I think has the most potential to be stuck in development hell. That being said I'll vote to approve it, but I think Sailing is just much more ready for refinement then Shamanism so I'm voting Sailing for my favorite.

  17. Dont be a shame for what ever skill you stand behind.

    Kinda torn between sailing and shamanism. But i like the more unique theme of shamanism. I can see a bit of inscripion in it. Think forestry can enhance the nature feel of shaman. With sailing i think you should always be your character on a ship. With sailing activities i feel like you there for that activity of for the sailing part.
    A combat on a ship sounds cool. But you like it for the combat or for the ship aspect. The sea apect is a great for for the game.

  18. I like how both sailing and shamanism can give semi random sctivitys to keep it refreshing.

    Taming is a bit too hollow on info for now.

  19. love the idea of sailing. I'm only apprehensive that it will be over-promised and under-delivered. I would be happy with sailing or shamanism at this point. Both give way for new areas to explore. Honestly at this point I just want both in the game…and taming would be cool as a subset of hunter but it doesn't have enough meat to it for its own skill. These are my thoughts.

  20. I agree with your take on taming. Unfortunately they were too focused on making it not summoning instead of just making it a cool skill. Feel like it never really had a chance.

  22. Out of the 3 options sailing is the worst 🤣 taming also sucks amd shaminism is the only 1 that is a bit okay.
    Lagex fucking up again as usual 🙄
