Just came across your channel. I love it. The Bukh engines are a fantastic little engine. It will give you decades of service.
Both very competent yachts people. Follow the winds and your ❤
I got only a quick glimpse of the end of where the engine gets mounted but, looks like the small plug on the end, either side, you could then go right in the end with a magnet on a stick ! Also reach in and start the motor mount bolts !
Great episode! Keep up the awesome work
Such a likeable handy bloke-ess – as we say here in God'sown (used to be before this Labour party. Grr)
One word: Respect!
I like your efforts, but I won't comment unless I can help…one of the best ways not to loose a bolt is to tie a fishing line to it…then cut it off…a very long and flexible needle nose will do,($3,00) and if the bolt/ item is made of steel, a magnet will save your day…cheers!
As a professional mechanic. Respect. Well done.
HI HOLLIE, OR IS IT HOLLY? I JUST CAME ACROSS YOUR CHANNEL BY ACCIDENT AND I LOVE IT….I'M AN OLD HIPPIE AND I LOVE SEEING SUCH A YOUNG AND TALENTED ADVENTUROUS HIPPIE. ENJOY THE JOURNEY!
Hi mate mark here from nz just watched all your videos love them where are you right now ask from the 6th of May
good work, it aint easy but you do it well
I have had good success with lanocote a lanolin spray to prevent corrosion on marine outboards.
To put the bolts in you feed thin wire through the hole and grab it on the other side, Now wrap wire tightly around threads and pull on wire to draw the bitter end the bolt is attached too, back through the hole … bingo bango… You are doing it with ease! (Comment made before seeing you the string! Good job!!)
What a great video. You have some spirit for sure. Was awesome to see you working things out in real time. Love it!
Will be watching from now on.
25 years as a marine mechanic and this too me is entertaining even knowin I hate sailboats and im sure she understands why now. The vid is not sexualized even knowin she is a pretty young lady. But doesnt give in to unrealistic makeup and yoga pants type stupid solo camping vids. I cringed when i saw what she was working on. Never understood why sailboat builders make zero room in the engine area to work. Who fills the aft storage that much to where you cant give the engine area an extra couple inch's? never made since to me.. great vid subbed and liked.
Really good job for girl…. !!!!
I admire you so much. I wonder if you ever get scared on the wide open ocean and how do you cope with fear? Your boat is so small and your so confident, nothing but respect!
What a miserable little engine compartment! !! It must make service horrible.
I would make every effort to make clean up and organize all lines and wires and make filters and fluids access remote and accessible. Damn good work for a noob. You are an amazing woman!
What brand of diesel? Good luck!”
Spending a little for maintaince on engine can save a big repair. Moving parts hazard. Create a list of things to do in exercise book. Far sailing. From taz
Amazing
Much Enjoyment 👍😎
Girl, you're dirty! 😆😆😆😆 Wish you good luck with the new engine.
Don't forget to line up the engine properly to the prop shaft. Vertical and lateral.
You mam are a gem 💎 ✨ 💖 💕 ❤
Just cut off half an inch of the surface on which the engine stands. Then you can probably get your hand in between hull and the stand. It might ba very helpful to have a piece of steel made with threaded holes in the right distance like the rubber cushions. You only need to get one screw in place under there, then turn it a bit to get the second screw in. To fasten both screws no wrench needs to be squeezed in there under the engine stand.
I'm sorry my suggestion came too late. But happy you managed it anyway even that was the very hard way.
Holy Holly…almost😊
Nice work, Holly. As someone who also has a Bukh in need of replacement, can you share who you bought the replacement from? Thanks.
Congratulations on the new engine and hopefully new key.
😊
Why not just tap the holes so the steal mounts have threads, you can put the bolts in from the top and tighten them down? Nice work.
At last. So glad you have that rebuilt engine. So glad you enlisted help from professionals.
I love the engine name. Happy Sailing!😂❤
You have an engine 🤨
Luv you as a sailor
Like you as a grease monkey
