The guests trapped on the side that fell down to the water level must have been terrified seeing the now "glass bottom" boat and not being able to reach the side of their room with the stairs to get out. The other guest account of having to use a floating oxygen tank to gain access to exit door is equally terrifying. Honestly, as a diving guest and seeing this debacle unfold I would have kept my gear very close but that may not have been feasible.
    The guests rescuing the crew is just icing on the cake for this incredible story of negligent of not criminal maritime nonsense. It is a miracle they all survived.

21. you explained the situation very well. I was a Canadian Coast Guard, dive rescue specialist for over 12 years and was able to picture the whole scenario as you were describing it.

22. This accident was totally avoidable and I would hope the authorities come down hard and heavy on the charter company and captain, both of whom seem to have scant regard for the safety of its customers.

23. Having been on a number of similar charter boats and dived extensively in this area, I can only say that this is the sort of general incompetence and poor quality that I have seen regularly there.
    By the way, dive tanks don't usually float!

25. Having dived in the Red Sea quite a bit this doesn’t surprise me, Boat safety is a very low priority if a priority at all, we saw a dive boat in Sharm harbour burn down to the waterline, apparently some of the crew had been fuelling a rib whilst smoking!

31. As a shipwright involved with many yacht refits in my career, this is absolutely infuriating and it’s not at all an isolated situation. A lot of refits are poorly planned/executed and I can’t stress enough people should do their due diligence before putting their lives in a charter vessel company’s hands.

33. Certifiant Organisation been whom for the refit ? Diesel and Water shifting in the tanks causing the overhight vessel to list over ? I guess the up coming investigation will shed more light on the case. What a terrifying incident for all on board . The Captain should be held also accountable for his actions by taking on that vessel in it's unseaworthy state and for his actions during the evacuation !
