When the ships were made of wood the men were made of steel
People forget that slavery went hand in hand with colonialism. South America is full of black people because of slaves being brought over for the labour to build the new world. Same with the us. Canada is a little bit a different story where Canada took slaves from China and just Chinese workers in general to build the infrastructure. There’s a lot of asians in western Canada and even some parts of the states. But you go more to the more rural parts where personal land would’ve been mostly white people which is why there is stigma with black people and the midwest
Annoying voice. Absolutely unbearable. Disliked
Lots of bs…this is not accurate
Gosh… so much male privilege!
Reset s on the land written all over this , the red coats clearance s and repopulation . Again part of the false narrative portrayed by the elete bankers 62 tower moment numerology 16oos to 1900s ,. , Although you tell one truth quickly followed by 2 lies , this is convincing but not fact and there is no mention of the previous giant humanity
Imagine going out drinking and waking up on a ship that had set sail with the morning tide.
I was in the U.S. Navy for almost 7 years. It's hard. Nothing but respect to the past generations.
You have convinced me with this wonderful video!
I am going to sign up on your wonderful ship as a sailor ( me in the year 1666)😁
Very fascinating video. What an incredibly hard, brutal uncomfortable life these men at sea suffered. So many of them died during the course of their voyages. Even when it came their turn to sleep in their hammocks they were bitten by vermin, biting insects and rodents. Their food was terribly contaminated, and the water virtually undrinkable so they had to drink beer to avoid dieing of thirst.
Typically the work shift schedule would be 4 hours on, 4 hours off around the clock, 7 days a week.
Dont for the Kraken
The lives that suffered went beyond the ship’s crews; many peoples were destroyed by the English, Spanish & French who used those ships to take, destroy and conquer other cultures.
Without beer, rum & tobacco there would certainly be much mutiny
Gilligan's Island was just a show!!💯💯🤗🌍⛵📺😂
From our perspective today this sounds like and was a miserable wretched likely short life. For them, it may have offered a better life, like food, place to sleep an actual life improvement. I’m sure there was also a sense of adventure, exploration. They may have viewed the sea as we now see space. Risk, inconvenience, family separation but we still can’t resist. 4:19
Sea biscuits are still popular in Newfoundland
The thought of scorpions and snakes hiding on the boats is absolutely horrifying to me.
'Lines'….not 'ropes'. Lines.
After listening to this flying doesn't seem to bad now
It would be horrible to be stuck on a sailing ship with no wind 😮😳
Hahaha! My mom used to threaten my brother and I with getting scurvy when we didn't want to eat vegetables. 😂
Life in ship is still same even now mlc is not followed people working 20 hours a day doing dangerous jobs with no safety measures
This is true but you wouldn’t understand that freedom that comes with sailing.
Thank you sir
For exposing brutality n sailor,s real life n death waiting at every moment.
We sure need to work n act together to infuse civilized conduct in humanity both at land n sea. Jussojuan
Feck that
middle aged europe, feudalism, indentured servitude, same diseases, same dark ages medicine, at least at sea you werent tied to your land never to see whats over the hill unless an arranged war took hold between two neighboring lords who wished to cull down their subjects….the sea is an opulent spectacle with sunrises and sunsets, open skies that cant be found on land, surely those who died at sea were going into the right direction
Man, I love your videos! Please never stop
Sea of thieves!
Ferdinand MUH-GEL-IN. Not MAC-UL-IN. Come on. I knew this in 1st grade bro.
I used to work with a guy that was obsessed with sailing adventure books that included pirates. He told me he was born in the wrong century. Lol. Getting bit in the ass by a hungry rat, having my teeth fall out from Scurvy and fighting hand to hand on a boat sounds like so much fun. He really missed out.
How can you say so much but so little at the same time?
analogie with ukraine army recruiting
The sea paid them and then ir claimed them. No matter the struggle of life at sea the golden age of sailing has to be one of the most interesting and mysterious period of time in human history.
Their breaths must have been bloody well putrid.
That life had to turn man into monster.
140k views….the algorithm shows how backwards YT is…a girl doing a bikini "try-on-haul" Millions of views…..

Where do I sign up?
Please consider using a desser on your voice
Did they have a crew whose job was to bail water? I would think those old ships would have a hard time not leaking.
Hey, meat is meat. We’re nothing special
Life has been a living Hell for most people since time began
0:52 Loony leftists want to return to having 'kites' pull ships with their green energy nonsense.
