1. Great to see you in Genoa again and thanks for the dock tour. I agree that moving a boat without a deckhand close to the dock is a bad decision. I suspect that someone was simply careless about the details. While they may have a rear camera, I doubt there was a screen at the starboard wing station.
   Out of curiosity, are you still working aboard or are you dedicating all your time to the channel? I ask because you post so frequently that you are neither on leave nor out of touch at sea unless starlink is better than I realized. Keep up the good work.

3. Great to have more 'old school' type content, for the newbies to the channel i.e. who have been here since the Russian scumbags invaded Ukraine, this is the kind of content that got the channel it's start, brilliant stuff.

8. "Bleu de Nîme" is a reference to the denim (de Nîme) fabric, and funily she's in Genoa, also famous for its blue fabric, the "bleu de Gêne", the blue-jean.

14. Bleu de Nîmes is actually quite a clever name as it references blue jeans. Nîmes is the where the name of Denim cotton originated J believe. 'Coton de Nîmes' became 'Denim'.

19. Nîmes is a (beautiful historic) city in the south of France. "Bleu de Nîmes" is a sturdy fabric that was developed there in the 17th century. It was used to make durable work clothes. Mr Levi Strauss imported the fabric amongst other things to sell them in San Francisco during the gold rush of the 1850's. That is how "bleu de Nîmes" became known as "blue denim"

28. Ronin, rogue Samurai. Also movie with best car chase scenes, ever. This yacht is quite the story, fast, light, long range, even looks like a military vessel and was built by yard that builds military vessel. To keep Ronin fast, the interior could not exceed 6% of the hull weight. Ronin features honeycombed furniture, a major first at the time for yachts.

29. RONIN in addition to speed has a draft of only 2.48 metres, which is excellent for remote shallow areas, like Bahamas and Pacific atolls

32. Ronin used to be owned by Larry Ellison. I was a yacht broker for 20 years and sold him two Chris-Craft as tenders for that boat while he was in Newport in 2003 for the UBS Sailing Challenge. He was very down to earth and a true yachtsman.

It's an absolute disgrace conducting a safety drill with nobody wearing safely vests…..in actual fact in the last 20 of do docking at Monaco the majority of deckhands on the stern were not wearing life vests, safety on yachts is very poor, that would never happen on my watch, a captain should ensure the safety of his crew, at all times, a yacht can be a dangerous place

35. Cook Islands really great registry. One of four that allow the YETS (Yachts Engaged IN Trade) Charter scheme for sailing in French Waters. Bermuda, Cayman and Marshall Islands are the other three.

36. For the pronunciation look at your jeans. De Nimes is Denim that your jeans are made from. The fabric came from France. De Nimes is from Nimes.

41. .. yes, the Cook Islands indeed … Arutanga; quite possibly a former 'Bloody Bay' too , at least nowadays theire is a church at the approach of the dock there? Society of Friends… Nimes is a namesake for the town in Occatania; Bleu may refer to the legend of denim being invented there, or the colour of the type of absinthe' produced there? …
