Hi guys; very entertaining and informative. I taught sailing for many years and the one thing that seemed to really stump people was learning to tie the basic knots and where / when to use them. you did a really good job demonstrating which knots to use where.
btw; your whatchmacallit knot is probably a variation of a timber hitch or killick hitch

We tied a stainless steel snap hook to the end of the dinghy painter so we don't have to worry about someone making a mistake with a knot. Pass the snap hook through the cleat and clip it to the painter and your dinghy is secure.

Good demo, new to me was your version of tying the fenders, but I do disagree with your universal praise of the Bowline, sure its great, but if its in the water, you need a water bowline version, well similar but the loop is a clove hitch.
Your whatchyamacallit knot is a bunch of half hitches.
Your fender knot is called a slipped clove hitch, until you bring the rope back through at the end… then it looks like the highwayman’s hitch.
