Best intro ever and the black cat on the pink towel gets me everytime. Loving your videos. As a retired sailmaker and as one who repaired his own sewing machines, yours might not be broken, the timing between the needle and hook may be off. That will happen when trying to sew through material that is too heavy for the machine to handle. If it's not picking up the thread it's usually a timing issue and that's not a major problem and relatively easy to fix.

Ask Sailing Project Atticus on Youtube how to handle this. They have a sail sewing machine they used while they worked in Mexico to build cash to sail. Sailrite sewing machine or something like that. In fact, if you find their early videos they actually talk about this sewing machine and how great it is.
