  1. Ok Royal. 100% refund and 50% future cruise. But unfortunate about hotel and flights 🤷🏻‍♀️. You know. Since 2019 we get travel insurance and flight insurance. Thank goodness have never had to use it. Hearing this; I’m wondering does my insurance cover hotel. My November cruise is the 1st we’re flying in the day before. Will look through my policy. Thanks Don.

  2. Hate to burst your bubble…….since yesterday, THE PORT MONKEYS are still in ALASKA!!!!! They went LIVE yesterday from CREEK STREET. and another friend of mine who cruises NCL ALOT!!! he also knows there are a couple of ships stiil in ALASKA…..in fact he uses CRUISE MAPPER…….THE PORT MONKEYS were supposed to GO LIVE again…..still waiting…LOL LOL

  3. Don, we need you to do an episode on "cruise Insurance", the good and the bad. which one do you personalyl use? Is the one's issued by the cruise lines really worth it? Erick & Gwen-Houston

  4. I’m very tired of the you will get you paid in a couple of weeks excuse. When they charge you money hit your credit card immediately there’s no reason why it should take 14 days or even more to get your money back it’s electronic it should be instantaneous. If I buy a cheeseburger at McDonald’s drive-through I get the notification on my Apple card five seconds after I make the purchase

  5. I think the cruise companies are shooting themselves in the foot with the LARGE ships. I don't blame the ports not wanting the huge numbers of people overwhelming their cities with people!
Go back to the mid size ships. Can get in to smaller, interesting ports. More for the adults. ☺We all do not need water slides, etc.
Can go to amusement parks for that. Just a thought.

  6. Although partly correct, your headline “no more Alaska cruises” is misleading, I enjoy your posts but that title had me worried about my trip next year, “end of season” would have been more correct, you don’t normally default to much to click bait but I think you did there. Other than that keep up the good work.

  7. Who could possibly want to go to Portland anymore? Once a delightful city, it is now frightening!
I have friends that live there and I used to go there to shop. No more!

  8. I was in Juneau when a cruise ship came in. The city was shutdown to all of the tourists who were not on the ship. On the day after, the tourist services looked like they had gone through a war. A few were cancelled altogether while their staff recovered.

  9. The whole cruise line industry needs to be more regulated they are creating way to much damage to the environment.
    Wake up people.

  10. Click bait, you made it look as if there were going to be no more Alaska Cruises. Not the last one of the season. How about a title like “ Last Alaska Cruise of the season” or year.. 😂

  11. I don't think this guy knows how insurance works. RC did nobody a favor by refunding the premium since there was nothing to insure.

  12. Don, Im on the same cruise you are on. Say something nice about Boston if able. We never hopped off the hop on hop off bus, but listened to the narration from the driver. Not too sure how the one and one half days in Quebec works

  13. A few years ago we went to Alaska and wind forced us to Haines. End of September like now, but Haines didnt expect us and half the town had closed down for winter. Cars and trucks rushing in to open shop doors was comical. Being the Eagle capital of the world was worth it, there were dozens of eagles flying all around.

  14. Greetings Don. I'd like an opinion from you on carnival cruise changes in policies. I have come to a final conclusion they are no longer the cruise line they used to be. Over the past week or so, I've booked two sailings with them. The first will be a December sailing on Horizon for my wife's birthday celebration. After I booked this sailing some friends decided to travel with us on the same ship. Being that i generated the booking carnival direct i called them back to secure a second cabin next door to us. They penalized me for bringing friends to carnival. When i wanted to get the second cabin they used my name to secure the cabin and since they had made this change they canceled me off my original cabin, charged me a $50 penalty then placed my name on the new cabin. The issue with the new cabin was they demanded a four passenger occupancy. The couple has a nine year old so there would have only been three in that room. They demanded a fourth name be added to their room so they would get full booking dollars from the room. This is outrageous.
Now, for my second sailing. This one was the 12 sailing out of Long Beach on the Radiance. For the balcony that was about 160 square feet on the aft, with the huge wrap around balcony. They wanted 8grand for that stateroom. Three days later I called a vacation planner and tried to cancel the trip. They told me i would lose the deposit plus $800 I'd put to hold the cabin. I went ballistic. I was not nice to carnival. She claimed carnival changed policies last year on many things and at this point all money set on the cruise would not be refunded. They ended up charged me $125 in more penalties and they weren't done.
We decided on Alaska instead. Our friends wanted to see Alaska so i called them back and managed to transfer the $800 over to the Luminosa for a deposit. What I am seeing with a cruise line I've sailed 20 times on is pure desperation. Alaska will be all the carnival we do. I've learned from now on to make any reservation with this cruise line carefully. Carnival is desperate. Covid hit them hard and they are still playing rude games because of their huge loss. Thanks Don. Happy sailing.
