1. Worth adding that there is a massive extra factor. . Gregory Mannarino has what he calls his MMRI indicator, Mannarino Money Market Risk Indicator . Now most people don't realise that we a tially hit Peak Debt in around 1997 ? Well ai ce then things have been getting into what Greg I think accurately calls it Super Saturated levels of Debt. At the end of last week was the first time theMMRI went I to the red extreme danger area, measuring over 300. The entire Global Debt and redit Market is looking set to implode, and that will trigger the Derivatives over 2.5 Quadrillion Dollars of Dominoes falling over. Bottom Line, Nobody is going to be able to finance Big Ticket items any longer. Now the Federal Reserve "Might" be able to do a couple of very small kicks of the can to assist transitioning for a short while if they even want to . Things will get really serious really fast, if the Banks attempt Bail ins. Question how many people have enough unobtainium to be able to Buy a Boat with, or be able to keep a boat with ? 🤔 BRICS are in the process of forcing the Return of Real Money to the World by the way. The Fake Money Magic Money Tree is already dead, and every Central Bank is I solvent, and Bond Values are Collapsing. That means Governments ability to borrow money at our expense is evaporating. Things, are indeed about to get at least 12 months worth of increasingly interesting and exciting. If I can actually Survive the Fun anyway. 😅 Hang in there people, the other side of this isgoing to be truly amazing. Not, obviously, for the Malevolent Evil Sonsabitches a yway. They Are So Over. 👍✨️✨️✨️❤️

  2. Prices are dropping because joe biden and the corrupt communist democrats are destroying the economy and the news media is providing cover for them.

  3. I think you are wrong on this. I often agree on your views but this time I have to disagree.
The Boat market will follow the same pattern as the caravan market from the last years. Vanlife exploded over the last years and I see the same thing happening with boats.
I had a big van for 3 years and after 3 years I sold it for the same price. Same with houses in Europe. In 10 years the prices doubled and even with high interest rates the market didn't change.

  4. C’mon guys boats are always going to be for sale and like everything they do sell. It’s all about finding the right buyer. A boat’s value is only equal to what someone is willing to pay for it. In my case, my 1974 Swanson 30, with my mate, we paid $32K for it. But bear in mind the two previous owners had collectively spent around $35K in upgrading the boat. So was it a good deal, yes, but do we still need to spend more on it, yeas of course. Are we satisfied with the purchase, yes. And in the end that’s all that matters. So, don’t worry about things. If you want to buy a boat, can afford to do so and afford to maintain it, that’s all that really matters. The rest is just mere details.

  5. I learned something recently after making what I believed to be a fair offer on a proper ocean-capable cruising boat (not some POS production boat) that was immediately and roundly rejected without counter. It's that some owners have a vastly different conception of the market or their willingness to bend to it is highly variable. Just because the market seems to dictate that a boat sell for X, there are way too many variables at play to say it will. One of those variables in the intrinsic value of a boat to its owner. Invariably, that value is higher than the market will bear, either because they have an emotional attachment, they still enjoy the boat, or that market value is a fraction of their investment and parting with it at market prices is too painful. Whatever the case, don't be surprised if the seller tells you to pound sand, even as the market for selling declines. A reduction in price on one boat doesn't constitute a trend either but it's hard for me to imagine that the market is going only one way currently.

  6. 🤔 Your analysis of the the cost, psychology, and timing of the used market is always spot on. The narrative is thoughtful measured and incisive. I enjoy that you bring both a racing and a cruising perspective to the conversation which additionally provides a broad depth of knowledge. 👍 ✅

  7. I would recommend (worth 2 cents) taking a moisture meter and hammer when you check the boat out and do it before any moisture can freeze on the boat. Been down that price drop rabbit hole before. But there are always exceptions…you never know until you check it out.

  8. Heyyy I love the channel,I just bought sold everything I owned to buy a sailboat to start sailing around the world 🙂 thanks for the inspiration, just made my first YouTube video hahaha

  9. we have not yet reached the bottom of the market. Spring will see a ton of boats hit the market. A lot of old uninsurable junk on the market right now with a few gems to be found. If I see you in Annapolis, I will say hello. Come and visit Keenan fuel filters booth (KTI Systems) – I may be there.

  10. It’s ALWAYS a buyers market. The only variable to that is the sellers ability to recognize reality. I only buy second hand race boats because (for light construction) they are often (not always) built and engineered correctly at great expense by a team of intelligent focused professionals. Mainly though because they are cheap! I have just commissioned a 17 yr old 30ft offshore race boat (lutra v1) for just over 1€k. Purchase price last October 20k , Will be cruising Canary Islands on her. At the time of buying her there was a laser for sale for 7k. The new Farr x2 which is not epoxy not carbon with keel issues is over 255k – good luck with that! If you’re experienced and know what you’re doing, you can save a lot of money and have a lot of fun 🎉

  11. @lady k sailing, great vid, I know your main ordinance is the US public, however I must ask, how do feel about doing something similar to this video topic, for the European market 😛 thx bud!

  12. Recently I started watching sailing videos. But quickly became bored with the bikini bait and the every third show as a crisis channels. Then I found lady K. And after watching several random episodes, finally decided I was really enjoying your channel. So I went to the beginning and started watching. I’m 55 and longing to get back to the sea. I’m an avid scuba diver. And would love cruising the Caribbean. Kudos to the Crew of Lady K for setting sail on your dreams. My wife would never go for it though. She wants snow covered mountains. (We live in Texas)

  13. Hope I run into you in Annapolis. I owe you a beer- your advice helped alot with my decision to buy a boat, which I am currently living on in Deltaville for a while. No buyer's remorse. Go small, go simple, and will be going soon!

  14. Your channel tends to be somewhat biased to the American market… Which is a shame, given how big the world is and its oceans.
I'd like to mention an observation from the other side of the pond – the rest of the world – To support what you're saying…

I too have noticed a marked drop in boat prices too… Like, for example a Ductch registered 60 foot all steel MV, luxuriously fitted out (as good as this sailing yacht featured in the video), with twin DAF diesels, compressor, gen-set, workshop, fully equipped galley, eight births – two of which are doubles, each with heads, a full suite of navionics, deck equipment and inflatable… For …. $20,771 or £17000 !!!
No, no typing errors, no zeros left out… Almost too good to believe right?

Here in Europe, it seems like prices are dropping even faster, if this is anything to go by… My hunch is that it is the general depressed economic situation… (no doubt resulting from the proxy war with Russia and the ridiculous boomerang sanctions etc…) And in this particular case, that being an MV – this vessel, with twin – pretty powerful and thirsty engines – is going to be pretty pricey to bunker-up and possibly maintain, – though I consider steel boats as perhaps the easiest to keep seaworthy – not forgetting her LOA and mooring charges…
A shame she isn't a sail powered vessel though, where I've also noted that prices, thhough reduced in some quarters still remain higher than MV's… Which is no surprise given the cost of sails and rigging etc…

Given that sea-levels will now continue to rise – unabated – due to a retreating cryosphere, threatening coastal habitations, I can see more people likely looking to settle afloat… That's certainly where I'm heading.

  15. Thanks for another great episode.

Would love to see an episode comparing blue water prices in North America to Europe and any pros and cons associated with both. Here in Australia the market is small reflecting our “small” population, for those of us looking to travel widely buying in another market is very attractive, more boat for the money spent and already in attractive cruising grounds.

    Keep up the great work.

  16. I actually like your videos but you said once that you were ok that the Russian ships were conviscated because Putin was taking back the Ukraine which the EU and nato took from Russia in 2014 with peace deals , the same tactics Hitler used .
Now that your whole gouvernement was clapping for a neo nazi ( actually 2 because Zalenscy leads the Azov bataljon who controle the Ukraine and are also proven nazi's ) aren't you afraid they can take your boats or if you go to another country they wil
You were supporting communisme which your gouvernement actually showed during the protests by closing their bank accounts and the plandemic by locking everybody up or put them in camps and hotels .
Are you stil ok with your statement or have you seen the light jet because if you haven't i woundn't leave my country if i was you !
Think about it and look things up or investigate something before you make stupide statements like that
I wish you everything good in live and lots of succes but please stay out of politics if you don't have a clue of what youre talking about .
And it's not that hard to look something up on youtube Search as you probably know
Tip Search on youtube : Guy Verhofstadt Ukraine 2014 and Azov bataljon and their nazi connections
Ps Guy Verhofstadt is an EU parlement member and the Ukraine is Russian so why are we funding a war in Russia over a Russian border ! ?
After the civil war they created in 2014 to take down the Russian gouvernement they started to eliminate Russians who were against the Azov bataljon and their nazi stand
The number of Russians killed because of that is now around 16000 , the real number we wil probleby never know .

  17. I think you got 2 boats confused. The one on the West Coast has a new engine and other stuff for 150,000 the one for 99,000 on the east coast does not mention it.

  18. Ok but I got a question … this boat hylas 44 … basically 6.5. Foot draft.. your using it as an example in video… but you had previously said. You only want a 5 foot draft boat ? So ? Can I. Use it in all those small out of the way spots you say you recommend I go too ???

  19. I am located in Rhode Island and own a 2007 Elan Impression 434. I beleive I am one of very few people in the US who own such a yacht. I love the boat and would love to see one of your crtiques. I beleive Elan is one of the upper echelon boat manufactures, but there is very little written about them. If you are ever in Rhode Island I would love to take you for a sail.

  20. For some strange reason inflation isnt stopping the Politicians insane spending that caused inflation in the first place this time around. Inflation used to be the guardrail. When the only people that can afford Boats are Govt employees we have a much larger problem than boating, lol. If you have a boat you had better get rid of it now before it becomes worthless. We are in the worst economy in my long life today and the media is in full propaganda mode pretending the great recession we are in doesn't exist. What cant go on wont go on.
