  1. I love Morro Bay but have never experienced it in stormy weather, I've been lucky with calm and sunshine. The footage you captured of the storm conditions is WILD!

  2. Yikes, glad you made it through okay! We just came out the other side of 3 days stuck on our mooring due to rain. Seas weren't too bad, but our kid was literally climbing up the walls!

  3. Great episode! Makes all your Morro Bay stories make sense and come alive. Also love the permanently attached chain hook on the windlass, I will implement that on Sitka.

  4. Love Marissa's quote abot sailing not being all about sunshine and bikini's. No truer words were ever spoken. Glad you made through the storms and grounding. Pretty stressful situation but you two handled it well.

  5. Lol, must feel pretty good producing this from warm Mexico! We're at Cojo right now getting ready to go around to Sansimion tomorrow morning. No Moro for us! I'm not a fan of that place, as awesome as it is in a pinch when you really need some safeharbor.

  6. W O W … here to Stay, in Morrow Bay…!!
And we thought we have had trouble since IDALIA cam through here a month ago..!!🤔🫣🤷🏻‍♂️

  7. Love the videos, but they are a yr behind real time, so the disconnect makes them hard to watch. 😢
Will you catch them up to current possibly? Hate to be negative cause I love you guys, but I’m wanting videos of you jumping aboard in Rocky Point and heading out for another season! Just a thought. Cheers

  8. What do you mean, "a lot of weather in this video?" Wasn't enough for my liking! I love the stormy weather and most sailing channels cut it short all the time and we really don't get to experience just how bad it is in a boat when the wind is howling and rain pelting down. But alas, I shall make do with the offering made, and admit it was a very enjoyable video to watch. Great video guys. Really enjoyed it!

  9. She’s sounds like a Perkins. My Perkins 6354 -4 has a bolt on the side of the injector pump . I bleed it with a pump on my wall that has two fuil filters . Super easy. The injector pump alway pushes it up to the injectors with out bleeding . But if you run it out of fuil . The air gets trapped in the line from the fuil tank to the mechanical pump and from there to the injection pump . Perkins is a cool engine to have .Trans Atlantic Diesel is my go to for any complex stuff like that pump .And they alway no what parts you need down to the gaskets .

  10. Nice, but we want sunshine and bikinis!

Good explanation about your choice of snubbers and the importance of not relying on the chain gypsy to hold the anchor chain. It isn't the wind that causes the problems, it is the waves with or without wind that puts shock loading on the anchor components. I've seen one anchor windless torn out of the deck by the wave loads and many broken chains, capstans, samson posts, cleats, and anchor ropes chafed through.

I was sure glad you didn't have the wind and waves when you were aground, that pounds a boat to pieces in a few hours. Sail on!

  11. Wow, where did you find that Perkins Vid footage. I am based in Fresno during the Summer…. Where in fresno did you have your fuel injection pump rebuilt.

  12. That was some pretty nasty weather! Glad to see you made the best of it. Nice seamanship using the kedge to pull you off the sand. I hope I never have to do that!

  13. This was a great video. It must have been stressful riding out the storms. Impressive how much you were able to accomplish at anchor. Crazy that you had to pay $60 per day to anchor. That would get old quick. I am guessing this was either February or March of last winter (?). Thank you for posting.

  14. …. well to say you were tested might be a little calm of a term …. glad the Perkins is a purring again …. good time for an impromptu hull inspection …. when you first showed the boats at the dock my sentiments were the same as yours Chris .. glad you were not at the dock … that was brutal …. thx for the share .. as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger have fun be safe, save our oceans ….
