  1. Dubai is a modern day Babylon. It will one day crumble because it has no solid social or physical foundation. What a waste of space!! Like you perfectly described it: nothing but "a playground for the rich and wealthy."

  2. Rich luxuary places always seemed cold and lifeless to me , an enticing exterior like a trap maybe they have people in them but they have the same vibe as these places which also are the same as liminal spaces

  3. Bro 6:43 the Vox piece was about Quatar stadium, clearly says Quatar in the beginning of the clip.

Quatar and UAE are not the same country.

I’m not saying Dubai may not have the same thing going on. But that’s pretty cringe to mix up those two

  4. I went to Dubai for two weeks last year and absolutely loved it. One of my favorite trips. It’s a great place to visit if you are a younger than 50 and a bit of an adventurous traveler.

Just don’t go during the summer time since it’s hot as balls. If you monitor deals on Expedia and book well in advance, you can book a great hotel for a good rate. It was the best hospitality I’ve ever encountered. One common misconception from westerners is that alcohol is illegal in Dubai. Which is false, you can drink there.

  5. All these architectural monuments and skyscrapers are just to create wealth to Arab countries they don't even give citizenship to those immigrants, everything they expect from non arabs is just generate wealth to their nation and leave whether you are a labor or a working professional or a businessman or a influencer is not matter to them, if you are a non arab stay there for as long as you want to, contribute to that arab country, leave it when you can't
They didn't even build world class universities and shit, they didn't build because they can buy,
Recently they started sports washing, LoL
Singapore is far more different from them

  6. Bro I live in uae near dubai honestly I agree, Emaratis usually don’t even live in the city and in the suburbs and don’t even like the city and don’t agree with all the western stuff that happens in Dubai.

  7. How is India known as a developing nation buddy C'mon. India has the 5th largest economy soon to be 3rd. The 3rd or 4th of the worlds most powerful militaries on the planet and for example with the best Missile Super Sonic missiles that can launch across the globe and with pin point accuracy FACT, their rockets are so well advanced and travel so fast even the best missile defense systems cannot deter them, what about India having one of the best Space Programs ISRO on the planet, 4th country to ever land on the moon 1st on the lunar south pole, An ALL FEMALE team of rocket scientist and engineers in 2013 to be one of the first countries to send a satellite to the red planet (1st attempt). ISRO recently send lunar probe to orbit the Sun named Aditaya . India IT sector is 2nd in the world next to California's Silicon Valley and the list goes on etc…Oh fyi India ISRO also launched satellites for nations across the globe including arab nations and companies in Dubai and uae ( watch videos on YouTube ) Do the uae nations not have the foresight nor the intelligent inhabitants to reach these feats.

When you let media in general embed thoughts about certain topics or nations that is such a shame, when truth is their is more positive events taking place that the media hides.

  8. "Dubai Is Everything broke ass people want but can't afford so they spend their insignificant existence on YouTube speculating" AND playing gta10 all days

  9. Most of the Arabian Gulf is just so robotic and manufactured, I grew up in Saudi Arabia back when it wasn't morphing into another Dubai and I would say it's the least affected and more lively/ has more "culture" than these other countries(at least until 2018 it was) but everything about what these oil powered countries are becoming is so dystopian. It's just so boring, I only recently went on vacation to Saudi Arabia years ago and realized how caved in and closed off my life was (we barely left the house unless it was for school or to go to parks, I have literally never interacted with a Saudi Arabian person or had a Saudi friend, everything was just so dull) in comparison to where I live now which is a completely different dystopia but hey at least people here are actual people and there's culture everywhere!
