2. Felt so bad Maya broke down. I understood it though and have an overview of the whole situation. She is a heartfelt feeling person who is an artist both in presentation of this blog but also in music and likely many other things. Aladino is a master craftsman of extreme perfectionism. He operates that way and Maya goes along. A balance that stretches patients. I love both but at some point, need to get the damn boat in the water. Many craft have sailed the seas without failure without the over-the-top attention given this craft. This boat is a piece of furniture already. Enough. I am particularly attracted to Aladinos abilities and skills and have enjoyed, but at the same time. Maya is at the end of her rope and thinking everything being done is absolutely critical. Hell no it is not. She is not my kind of person because I am inclined to be like Aladino but I am siding with her now. She has endured as much as she should going along with Mr. Perfection. I am 80 years old and have earned my opinion. Anybody who disagrees, go for it. Don't give a damn.

3. Aladino, I love to watch you work you are a master craftsman and a Saint. Maya, I understand the love of music and being an artist. I was part of a group that performed hundreds of concerts across the United States and Europe. Then I married my soulmate and my priorities changed to being a husband and father. But I never stopped making music I just found other outlets and so can you. Funny thing is I never once heard you complain about your music when you were sailing on Magic Carpet I and I do not think we will when you are sailing on Magic Carpet II.

4. Maya, it pains me to see you sad. You are pale from lack of sun. I would like to see you take a break if you can. You are actually incredibly young by my perspective and much beauty is in store for you. Such good people will have wonderful things occur in their lives!

30. I'm not a patreon and you've probably moved the boat already so this comment is a little behind but make sure you take a holiday or long weekend or something. Take a break before you break. You've had a time crunch before moving the boat, but once you can slow down, take a break. You'll feel better for it.

Guys, I hope you fully realise what an inspiration you are too so many around the World, I am not surprised at how much you got done with all the fast forwarding speed you were working at 🙂On a serious note, look back at what you have achieved, the things you found that needed doing which you had not planned for etc. You have a solid relationship with each other and are building a solid boat that will last you for ever. The temptation to cut corners due to the time pressure must have been SO big, watching the sink getting fitted so perfectly was great to see, and the finish to the inside woodwork is SO fine.
    I was a Paramedic for over 16 Years, I am sure you can imagine some of the things I had to deal with, 22 Babies delivered successfully, even a few Breach was a happy thing, balanced off by sad things with friends and relatives too. I am convinced that life has a Yin and Yang to it. Even though I was able to deal with all those things, I now sit and blub with tears at silly things that I watch on TV, cartoons etc. Sometimes watching what you 2 are doing makes me well up, not with sadness but with joy at your achievements, it is completely natural to meet barriers that seem un surmountable and those points where you just have to walk away. Also SO important to still be you, or whatever makes you you. The move is going to be a BIG thing for you both, please take it in your stride and ride it out. You are SO much closer to being in the water now.
    I hope you understand what I am trying to say with my ramblings but too many relationships are broken by pressures that you and the World put on them. Please take a breath, as you have done so many times already, Then reap the rewards of all your hard work.

38. I think you need to re-evaluate what needs to actually be done to just get it in the water. I understand you are fed up, however, again I will say you both are healthy not getting chemo, or heart surgery or getting bad health news. I am sure ppl would gladly change spots with you. 40. One of your more moving video contributions. I felt Maya's pain and cried crocodile tears along with many viewers for sure. Secondary, the musical score was magical for this video. It really blended, enhanced and told a story of its own. Bravo.

41. once again, i am so happy that Aladino is there to keep focused and get stuff done. I never hear him complain or wonder of this is all worth it. He is tireless and his skill is amazing.

42. Can you guys get a us artist visa…you definitely qualify as artists with far larger audiences and far more airtime than even stage actors. Apparently takes 2-4 months during which time you could take a deserved break.

44. When building a boat is no longer a joy its time to find joy first! When I was building my Cape George I was forced by the city planners to tear down my boat shop and move the boat. Moved her into a warehouse that had doors 6" too narrow to get her inside. Not a problem as long as the modification was done in the middle of the night! Lived under the boat for six months until the cabin trunk and exterior were finished and I moved her to the work yard in Port Townsend to build the interior.

    Maya, for someone with your talent, going for six months without touching your violin is akin to water torture with drops hitting your forehead 24/7. If you are going to be along the Frazer, Simon Frazer will not be far away and may provide a link to start up your music again. Or move MC out onto Vancouver Island where the pace is less frantic than on the Mainland. (A Cape George fits onto a ferry just fine)

    A suggestion: Rent a 40' shipping container and set up a full workshop alongside Magic Carpet where Aladino can have the workshop that allows him to perform his art. Finishing MC when it feels right, and on other boats when the right job comes along. Go skiing up on the North Shore mountains, or down to Mexico for a couple of weeks when the budget allows.

    I have a Stout glamping style tent that has 200 sq ft of living area. It is a base camp on the Green River in Wyoming in the summer, and maybe a back country ski camp this winter. Cost me less than a month's rent of a studio apartment in Vancouver. People have over wintered in them north of the Arctic Circle, so with a propane heater it would be completely comfy in the mild climate of Vancouver.

    Think outside of the box, but have fun!
