1. ps to former comment . you and your family have diligently put so much effort and heart into steel melody and your cruising wished for life ,that you might be tempted to sell ,if a current market offer is given . current market offers are not enough ,in my opinion . there are additional benefits in checking out options as given in previous mail ,crunching the numbers of keeping steel melody : you are likely to come back sometimes to your home country ,either by your boat ,or by flight . keeping steel melody with a special charter set up and selected membership ,offers you extra earnings/savings by doing repairs yourself (at convenient times ) ,or being sometimes the captain for groups ,including for captain certifications . that offers as well opportunities in keeping personal contact with your supporters, youtube community , without having them crowding your live aboard .well designed participation models are often more sustainable and of more mutual benefit ,than just having people observing from afar ,sending some money .
   lots depends on getting the right and affordable insurance . your wife and even your kids ,ones old and qualified enough ,would have an extra earning opportunity ,captaining steel melody for paying groups .
   being experts in selecting and refitting boats ,might offer the opportunity ,to take on another refit ,by pre-order of someone else ,or for sale ,or additional charter ( if charter is going well ) .you are bound to see boats that qualify as fitting deal on your travels . 5. Had to laugh watching you build those frames. Reminded me of my attempts with each iteration looking worse than the previous. 😂 I always admire the crafty carpenters that accomplish these things with minimal effort.

9. I too have an old boat (44 yrs now). Every time I did a project involving wood,
   I would save all the pieces and put them in a corner of my garage dubbed "The Wood Department".
   Over the years I have found it was a very valuable resource for the same reasons you gave in your video.
   My wife, however, complains that the wood is taking up far too much space in her favorite 'junk' storage locale.
   I remind her that the Wood Department was started before I met her and that the local
   "UStore It" facility would be happy to accommodate her collection of treasures!

12. Great to see you able to get back on Steel Melody. The front cabin is looking great. I'm a huge fan of recycled lumber and love what you are doing with it. Definitely worth redoing the porthole frames, they look really good.

14. Welsh weather! As an ex-pat Liverpudlian now living in New England l still remember it well. How ever did l go Youth Hosteling on a bicycle through Snowdonia? Bizarrely, they are happy memories! Finish Steel Melody before you sell her; you'll feel better about it in the long run.

15. I’m completely on board with recycling wood. I’ve seen so many videos that have wooden structures that have weathered time, but without care have fallen apart…there is such a great source of material still available…it is esthetically (character) impossible to recreate…rent a truck or trailer and go exploring, it is everywhere …
