  1. Awesome video, I really enjoyed the way you edited the trip into one video. The beautiful scenery in Iceland is breathtaking. Thank you for the wonderful adventure . I salute you adventurers for the life you chose to explore the world and share it with us. Kudos

  2. Wow! that looked sketchy but you ended up in Stornoway and it doesn't get much better than that. Hope you had time (and weather) to explore the town and the island a bit. My family are from there and we get back every year but like sensible people we wait for the summer to enjoy the beaches 🙂 Hope you enjoy Lewis and the rest of Scotland! – Graham (the sometimes editor)

  3. Good decision on grabbing the weather window, the last few weeks has been back to back systems rolling in and it’s been wild at times.
Your Icelandic sojourn was excellent and beautifully presented, the landscapes around the far North are epic.
I hope you have an enjoyable cruise South and this cycle of storm after storm allows you to make decent passages without too much stress.
Are you heading Falmouth way? If so I’ll stand you a pint and a pasty, plus if you need any running repairs I’ll point you in the direction of some of the less piratical individuals around here, mostly racing mates of mine.
    Stay safe and warm.
    Cheers, R.

  4. Hi Adam, Khiara. @ 7:18 , I might have a clue on the trouble you were having with calling the harbour master. It's the same problem we had in a few harbours, until the good folk in Milford Haven alerted us to how it sounded at their end. If you listen to the audio just after 7:18 , while you are transmitting the sound of your voice can be heard twice. The first is your natural voice being picked up by the video camera's microphone. The second is the sound of your voice coming out of a radio speaker, a split second later, also picked up by the video camera. You must have a second radio in use. Your original transmission is hitting the antenna of your other radio, repeating your words. These are then being fed into the microphone of the radio you are speaking into and being re-transmitted with a delay. To the fella at the other end it sounds awful. They hear a doubled-up mush and possibly even just feedback noise. This could be why they don't talk back to you.

The solution is to have only one radio on if you will be transmitting. We kept our Icom handheld on, up in the cockpit and left the B&G radio down below off. The fact that the B&G had cockpit speakers only made the feedback worse if we were transmitting with the Icom handheld. If we were watchkeeping from below, we'd do the opposite.

Eventually we found that having only one radio on was better for reception too. If we had both radios on we could hear four versions of the other boat's message: from the basestation's speaker at the inside nav station; from the basestation's wireless remote handset, which we'd have in the cockpit; from the basestation's cockpit speakers and from our Icom handheld radio, also in the cockpit. Sometimes it was difficult to figure out what they were saying. Hearing their voice coming out of one speaker was best. 🙂

    Regards, Rick.

  5. haha. 100 miles in the topics is like 10 miles up north, especially at the end of summer, it's always, we just need to get there. Sad you missed Farhoe, such a spectacle of a place, but Iceland is quite similar. That said, Scotland, the land of my father, god's country, man! Great adventure! Thanks for sharing.

  6. 0:17: 🌊 The speaker reflects on their journey to the westfields of Iceland and expresses a desire to have spent more time there.
4:18: 😢 The speaker is sad to leave Iceland after enjoying their time there.
8:34: ! The YouTuber and his friend planned to go hiking but had to cancel due to bad weather, so they decided to head to the Pharaoh Islands instead.
13:27: ⛵ The sailors encountered gloomy weather and rough waves, with a rip in their sail that they patched temporarily.
18:14: ⛵️ The sailors are facing challenging weather conditions as they try to reach their destination.
