În videoclipul acestei săptămâni, instalez un senzor de nivel al rezervorului SCAD TM1 și înlocuiesc o balama pe capul nostru Raritan Marine Elegance. ** Link-uri ** Site-ul Sail Life: https://www.saillifechannel.com/ Sail Life pe Patreon: http://bit.ly/SailLifeOnPatreon Sail Life pe Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/saillife_ Sail Viața pe Facebook: http://bit.ly/SailLifeOnFacebook Sail Life pe Twitter: http://bit.ly/SailLifeOnTwitter

Dear Mads, from "the rest of the world"… could you please stick (back) to the metric units!!! its kinda a rodiculous you turned into inchyfooty maddnes!!!
Nice video Superman.😁
We love our hand-pump non-automatic Raritan,PH-II head. I rebuilt it before we left Chicago in 2016 and haven't had it apart yet to do anything to it -not even replacing the joker valve in all that time. We are full-time cruisers who don't really stay in marinas so it was being used full-time that whole time with only a few weeks of breaks to visit family away from the boat.
Like you the only issue we have had is the toilet seat. It loosens up every once in a while and the paint is getting gross from some of the cleaning wipes we use. Those Clorox sanitizing wipes work great cleaning the seat and lid but the "Bemis" brand aftermarket lid just isn't up to surviving due to some cheap paint they use. We never had a.fancy Raritan seat with soft-closures. The head.had a nasty old Bemis seat that we replaced with another from Home Depot and sure enough after a half dozen years it failed again.
We do the same thing with the tank level by shining a light into it like you showed but we have long ago figured out exactly how long it takes to fill it with the two of us and that is pretty regular unless one of us is sick with the squirts and then it fills up much faster obviously.
We have two 1" septic vent hoses for cross-ventilation which terminate in simple mushroom through-hull fittings high up on the hull near the toe rail. When the tank is overfilled the "contents(tm)' have no problem escaping out of one or either of the vents. It's pretty embarrassing to have the "contents(tm)" of the tank dribbling down the side of the white hull with an ugly brown steak down into the water so we try very hard not to have any explosions even if it goes outside. Good boat neighbors don't let the "contents(tm)" of this tank go into the water. Nobody believes the excuse that this is the hot cocoa overflow vent.
“Poop explosion” appears to be your phrase of the day.
Hi Mads. It’s funny because our boats are so similarly equipped, up to and now including the scad sensors lol.😂. Like you, I also have CZone and I have wired my scad sensors to the analogue inputs on my COI so I can see my holding tank levels on all of my MFD’s. You can also use that input to kick a relay to deactivate your toilet pump when it’s full, if the alarm function doesn’t work.
The fact that you have Wera tools is not lost on me.
what a load of 💩🤣
The old plumber who taught me everything worth knowing would give you a good telling off for having your black tank and your watermaker in he same compartment. I would just stand back and hear that unfold and you would hang your head in shame at the end of it…
I'd pay $5 to never here you say "poop explosion" again….. oops too late.
See you 👍🏼🇩🇰 god arbejdslyst Mads
Soft close hinges break incredible easy.
Have you considered using a silicon dielectric grease on your low voltage connections? No water to corrode could ever get in. Thanks for the great episode.

Love your euphanisms for explanations Mads. Humorous but you get the point across.
EXCELLENT WEEK
Who knew you could make a holding tank sensor install interesting? Good on you, Mads!
Chunky stuff? Oh great, I can no longer make a PB&J sandwich using Chunky PB . Thanks Mads.
I hope when you empty your holding tank at sea you are careful
to be sure you are not being escorted by a happy pod of carefree Dolphins.
You don't want to hit Flipper in the head with a blast of chunky poop.
That perfect shot of closing toilet tho…
How does the sensor compensate when the contents are sloshing around (not level) when under way?
Glad you didn't get a Fischer Panda head, that story could have had a s***ty ending.
Am I only only one who would rather see Mads and Eva restore a boat rather than sail? Sorry, Mads and Eva….please don't enjoy life. We need you to buy another big boat that needs restoration done right (aka the Mads Way)…. I cannot go consecutive episodes without hearing "thickened epoxy" or "Oh glorious sanding"….
When the flashlight came on I yelled 'ewww' at the screen! :> Great 'content' as always!
👍🏽
Isn't crimping connections and wires recommended over soldering in marine applications?
so. is "poop explosion" going to replace " Oh glorious sanding"?
"
As nearly always, excellent detail on the head situation. Gave me some good ideas on our head woes. Hopefully Ava will arrive in weeks, not months.
Wheres the link to that video?
How relieved must Mads be not having to fit a sensor inside the tank. Up until he said it was an external sensor, I was waiting for the moment when Mads lost his lunch when he opened the storage tank
Is the plan still to head up the east coast?
As always you are a champ Mads, i wish i had your knowledge. The locker was very tidy now
Another great video, thanks. But a little wonder, do you document everything well? Otherwise, it will be a nightmare for the next owner with all your clever connections. 💕😃😄
Great video. As a RV'er I know the importance of monitoring the holding tanks by having working gauges. I really like the alarm system wired in. You always do such neat work! As a retired Union Electrician I have an eye for detail. You always autograf your work. Great job.
Love it. Nice vid again.
Wow, another fantastic episode, Mads! It's great to see you tackling the SCAD TM1 and Raritan Marine Elegance head. Your DIY skills never cease to amaze me! By the way, I'm glad to hear that you had a positive experience with Raritan's customer service. And that tip about adding the angled blocks to eliminate side-to-side movement on the seat is brilliant. Keep up the awesome work, Mads, and thank you for inspiring us with your sailing adventures and handy DIY projects. Your channel is a true gem! Oh, and I also appreciate the recommendation about the larger vent hose for the holding tank – it's definitely a clever solution to ensure zero chances of damage. Sail on! ⛵️
Why solder wires together instead of using but connectors? Don't you worry about vibration breaking solder?
Your technical explanation and how-to are always unmatched, Mads. You are second to none, and you've convinced me to use a SCAD Tm1 in my head instalation. As always very nice job
As always you get it done.
