Detaliul distractiv despre povestea noastră este că barca pe care am cumpărat-o se scufunda și se baza pe multe pompe de santină pentru a supraviețui, așa că a trebuit să o ridicăm pe uscat pentru a începe o reparație completă. Odată ce barca a fost ridicată (pentru prima dată în viața ei) ne-am dat seama că munca necesară a fost mult mai mult decât se aștepta. Între eliberarea sau acceptarea provocării, am decis să alegem a doua variantă.   2. You too are great, your joy is contagious.
    I think the drain trap you made in the galley will be a problem. The flex hose will collect food or grease and tend to clog.
    A fixed or hard drain trap will serve you better in the long run.
    I’m excited for you to splash Yaba so soon. Good luck getting her ready. Can’t wait.

  3. now i am never one to make sexist remarks about ladies in kitchens, but it is a little like the ladies and new shoes or handbag – see MP getting water in the kitchen AND insisting on being the first to turn on the tap does confirm, MP is putting her mark on the kitchen as her domain – i found MP hiding amusing too, your going to have to watch her antics at sea, with Ben running round in circles, chasing his tail to locate her, thinking she has fallen over board – teach the dogs to find her

  4. Using the accordion drain pipes are not ideal. Any food scraps, etc. that accidently go down end up getting caught in the accordion recesses. Over time, this becomes a health and odor issue. Unlike in a house where you have a P-trap, there is no way to keep the odors from coming out the drain. I would really suggest using something like Fernco QwikFlex or a high pressure braided PVC vinyl tubing.

  5. Hi Ben and MP. Combining hot and cold water in one hose is not safe. Regulation temp boiler should at least be around 50-60 celcius. Read more online about legionella and legionairs decessaes. Al the best coming next weeks. Hope you make it to splash before shrimp season. Greetings!!!!

  6. Shower drains sumps on boats are often necessary but always nasty. They easily clog and need constant cleaning. Emptying your sink into a shower drain sump is just asking for trouble. Oils fats and soaps along with other wast will clog the sump in days and you’ll find it really hard to keep clean and running. I understand that because your sink is outboard of the Central line, the temptation is to use shower drain sump in order to prevent flooding , but you’re going to need to find another solution.

    You have a window of time to get Yaba in the water .
    You should be working on finishing the hell ,get her in the water.
    The hull is drying out ,she's going to leak a lot .
    Then, finishing the inside in the water .
    Come on and get it done….

  9. For what it is worth (with the time delay), I would not be to worked up on getting into the water in January. If you end up on the slipway for another 2-3 months… unless you have a place you can use to get out of the water if needed, you may wish you stayed on the slipway if the cost is not to bad. Those months will go by quick, and give you a safety margin.

  10. You guys have done an amazing job. Don't let the short timeline overwhelm you. There is much you can do in the water. Focus on what must be done on the dry first. Finish installing the metals to put the shrouds. Make sure you can drop and raise the anchor. The boom and all the wooden parts for rigging can be installed in the water, but have it on the boat while is easier to carry. Install the sacrificial keel and hull through sensors. You can get a depth sensor that can be dropped from the side. All other sensors can be wired later. Finish what the boat needs to float. Bring into the boat that which will be heavy and cumbersome to tranfer into the boat like the freezer and tanks. Have a dingy to travel back and forth from boat to land. Safety equipment. All other instalation and wiring and rigging can be done in the water. Concentrate on installing what must be done on land so the boat doesn't sink. You can finish everything else on the boat. Remember, if you can move the rudder drop anchor and move the boat without sinking, you can put the boat in the water. It will be more inconvenient, but you can finish it in the water.😉

  11. I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but PVC is not a good piping system for your water once it's been in for a while it gets if you accidentally bump it it will crack

As a tip to you, do not put teflon tape on the threads that you are going to thread the 1/2 inch fitting from the breaded line from the faucet because there is a rubber o ring that seals the water not the threads, by putting teflon, tape on threads, it fills the threads and it makes it harder for the fitting to tighten up against the o' ring.

  13. Shark bite connectors will only last as long as the neoprene o-ring. They also can become dislodged if significant side pressure occurs. For lasting connections with PEX, use compression fittings (either brass or stainless). Those fittings will outlast the tubing while your Shark bites will last the o-ring life (and then an entire plumbing retrofit).
