Erau pe un iaht de livrare din Grecia în Olanda. Au vrut să verifice dacă se afla cineva la bord și să vadă dacă poate ajuta.

What happened – did you attempt to salvage her?
If I'm not mistaken that is a Westerly 33 from the late 1970s. Greek registered going by the flag. A fine seaworthy design. Sad to see her like this. Looks like the person on board had to be airlifted out, possibly a destitute liveaboard or even a vagrant, unfortunately. I've seen one like this in a yard in Kalamata.
A boat should always have someone on deck. An adandoned boat will have poorly set or damaged sails. There is rarely sufficient crew to man a derelict. I'd radio the coastguard of the relevant country, in case something was amiss. If the distance to nearest port is short one can attempt salvage. i've never attempted towing under sail. Checking that no one is in need of assistance is the first prioity.
The date spray painted is from a coast guarrd or authority signifying the boat is abandoned witth no one aboard!?
Weird. The condition looks like a drug addict lived on it. Maybe it broke free from a mooring someplace and they couldn't sail it.
Suspicion: boat used to transport illegal immigrants. Then abandoned with crew in a dinghy ashore?

The same happened to us off the south coast of Italy as we were on passage to Sicily. The yacht was going round in circles, it appeared to have the engine running but no sails up. We did not board but tried to raise anyone aboard with our fog horn. Informed Italian Coast Guard who came out to us and then on to the abandoned yacht. Don't know the outcome but felt we did all we could.
