If you don't get to do all you want this southern summer in NZ due to gear / engine issues or whatever, then google "New Zealand Extending your stay, chartering or permanently importing your yacht". Basically, filling in the right paperwork means you can keep your yacht here for two years instead of the usual one. Cheers

30. Luke mate, unfortunately getting dumped is a fact of life ( got dumped by text once!) but the old saying is there is someone out there for everyone, ( took me 40 odd years and a failed marriage to find her) but I couldn’t be happier, fair winds and following sea and never give up my friend.

31. Just a thought. We had a wierd engine problem last year in our Konsort. Revved up and died away but nearly conked out. It wasnt blocked fuel at all. It was a bad wire to the fuel pump giving intermittently fuel. And it ticked over on the gravity from fuel tank but no good when revved. Just a thought?

37. B….. engines. Fingers crossed its an easy fix. The engine on our hire boat in Thailand packed up first day out here. Calcium in water feed.

The engine sounds good so I'm assuming its a fuel issue, (my real guess is your brother is trying to create some drama for the clickz haha) one of my fav yt channels and a very underrated channel in the sailing community is 'how to sail oceans', Kevin sails all over the place including a recent atlantic circuit in a 30 foot long keeler all without an engine, it really makes you question your reliance on and use of an engine, not relying on an engine makes you a far better seaman. When ever i go to start the engine i ask, what would Kevin do? He does have a sculling oar, so he is not completely hopeless in no wind.

42. That is a nice looking fish to catch. The sailing shots over the calm seas were so tranquil. Girls can be so mean. She is probably wishing she had a nice guy like you right now. Oh no for the engine. It sounds like a fuel issue, maybe dirt in the system, a clogged filter, but it could also be electrical with the bum alternator not charging. Ten years ago the alternator went on my truck when I was driving on the highway. I shut off everything that was non essential and was able to limp to a garage with the engine sputtering and coughing ready to die. By now I'm sure you have gotten to the bottom of it and will let us know what it was. Have another cup of tea. Tea is like a warm hug inside.

43. You’ve probably found the cause of your engine trouble… if not, could it be bacterial growth in your diesel fuel ? 🤔

    Bugger about the engine, plenty of previous advice given but as one person already pointed out start at the filter, other than what has already been suggested any possibility of water in the fuel?

    I noted your comment about your seamanship, mate it must be hard having your every decision scrutinised by a panel of youtube viewers, I doubt I could do any better than you guys.

    Sad about your teenage heartbreak, if its any consolation my first love dumped me for another fella😢.
    In regards to the dead heads that used to bully you well look at you now mate sailing the world
