  1. @10:50 Yep, it's called "the torture board for a reason"! Good thinking to break the (hardest) top layer first.👴😉
Making the fairing thinner is a good idea. Slightly thinner than tooth paste always was my benchmark.
It will make it harder to sand, but applied the correct way, as you explained (and did later on), there is less to be sanded away…👴😊
@18:46 Wow, that 35 cm sander works like a charm!👴👌

  2. The kitchen garden looks perfect, Vera on the slopes enjoying skiing was special and the boat build with amazing editing and superb cinematography. The best Utube sailing channel by far. Thank you so much for sharing your Family joy!

  3. when i peeled my 29 ft to bare grp and painted the hull and topsides the only thing i didnt do was long longboarding. believe it or not i did sand the whole boat with a 5 inch orbital sander but always mimicking the motion a longboard would do. i would then change grits appropriately of course. sanding is hard enough but polishing is even tougher so be advised this is only the warm up!! i cant imagine doing a 50 ft practically alone…thats brave man

  4. If you use wood chips you should add extra nitrogen to the soil. The bacteria and microbes that breaks the wood chips down will also deplete the nitrogen out of your soil.

  5. I really enjoy watching your learning and continuous improvement process. That and your attention to working carefully and methodically are really making a difference. Compared to other strip-built hull builds I've seen you are so much further along after the second layer of fairing – all your hard work and hard thinking are really paying off. That big disk sander is a real game changer. Thanks for sharing the vacation video, fun to see Vera's progress since last year.

  6. Two things I learned – you drive on the right side and the steering wheel is on the left side – just like us Americans. Second, your snow skiing is better than I expected. Oh, the full moon reminded me of the full moon I saw last night as I was looking out the kitchen window. Boat is coming along. :¬) Webhead USA

  7. Your biceps are going to be huge by the time you're done sanding.. hopefully whoever is the operator for turning the hull is talented so that he doesn't mess up your great work fairing out the hull..

  8. Seeing you do the Sanding on the Hull brings back a lot of Memories for me in the Auto Industries just as a tip get a Can of flat Black Spray Paint and give the hull a very light coat it will show the Lows very fast and all so show where to put your next fill on the Hull . lol Great work done by All . 🙂

  9. I always think your videos are too short and I don't build or sail. As a Dane, I've always liked Sweden and the videos you make are incredibly entertaining, I've worked with photography for 50 years myself and have been a craftsman since I turned 17 and came Apprentice at Volvo as a sheet metal worker, later I trained as a cabinetmaker and ended up with my own company, so it is a great pleasure to see your problem solutions. stay safe and keep up the good work, RESPECT

  10. Your skying brings back so many souvenirs!
in the 60s (..yes 1965-67) I was a ski racing teenager and also teacher at Mount Sutton Quebec…Lol
    Cheers

  11. I used to clean and polish Computer room floors and the discs were large we used three types of pads which were held on by velcro type system the pads were colour coded black, green and red respectively hard, medium and soft. the red was just for buffing, the green was for scouring marks out and the black was for heavy marks. If your method isn't effective you might look into adapting those pads.
