You have to be a skilled pilot to do this job. I wonder if they have thought of changing their communication mic to a button mic like in an airplane. The mic cord will break over time and you think the swinging mic would bother the pilot of the tug boat.
Mad respect for the work you do. It’s very interesting how tugs work. I wish you had more camera angles to show the process. A couple of GoPros outside would make for some good angles
Took me a couple seconds at 0:40 to realise that isn’t some cool digital screen showing you the horizon in different colours … I was thinking it was something similar to thermal imaging or night vision and then realised you’re just right up against the ship
Do you care about maneuvering thruster locations, if the ship has them?
I enjoyed that more then I thought, great video 🙂
How many times had that radio transmitter hit you in the face ?? Seriously, would not a headset allow for safer communications? Just curious, ‘tis.
Sound could have been a lot better. A commentary on what you're doing while you're doing it would be good too.

As a boat owner for a few years and one of my primary goals is not to run into another boat, it is really cool watching someone do it on purpose.
The 1-3 beat of the Reggae music in the background is very good for the nerves needed for this job.
Love the music choice! Being a younger guy and the top dog i can only imagine how hard you have worked over the years to achieve that position. I am a equipment operator and the controls and engine compartment seem so interesting to me. If you ever get a chance that would be cool to see how the controls work and what size engine and all that stuff.
Worked for McAllister and Moran as a mate back in the Local 333 days. Good memories

I watch some random stuff, can't beat this though… Sunshine and water, sweet tunes and the hum of the engine, staring out the front of your starship looking bridge. Can even listen to this without watching.
Actually I was on the bridge at that time. It’s quite a special experience to see our ship from this angle thanks for the video
