  1. That must be such a great improvement to life onboard? As you are drawing fuel directly from the main tanks without a limit perhaps you need a low fuel warning light. Some installs for a heater use a separate feed starting part way up the tank ensuring you will always have enough fuel for a few hours engine time. The heater looks good, I notice Alluring Arctic Sailing have a steel mesh barrier beside their stove, that allows the space beside the heater to be used for drying whilst keeping things from contact with the heater. Perhaps you could warm a small kettle to the side?

  2. I am at 2:43 and had to just pause the video and comment – I really miss and enjoy these explanations!!! I have been watching for donkey's years and have always followed you… love you both, but I really miss these explanations – no other channel delivers them like you!! MORE PLEASE!!!! OK… Press Play!!

  3. We call that funny snow "graupel". We pronounce it improperly – "graup" rhymes with "drop".

Congrats on the heater – must feel wonderful. Millie is now an explorer yacht!

  4. Not snow, SLEET! Frozen rain drops. And also not hail. All three form differently. Such a tiny bit of it too. Nice installation. What is the heater rated for? BTUs or whichever units it is labelled for.

  5. As someone who’s done a couple of thousand flares, you need to deburr the inside of the pipe before you flare and then I see you didn’t flare deep enough, you need to crank the that flaring tool all the way home!

  6. look for liquid lighter . Its a plastik bottle with a ignition cab. So you light it up, hold it into the oven turn it horizontal and push the bottle a bit. Flame drops will fall to the bottom, where you opened the oil valve about 30sec. prior. It is so much cleaner. I grew up with oil burner.

  7. Isn't a Dickinson just the most handsome thing? The installation is beautiful. But, …… fans? I have been on boats with Dickinson stoves with fans and a few without. There is no comparison in terms of the comfort they create in the immediate cabin and throughout the boat. My suggestion – install at least two more fans than you might think are needed. Moving warm air is magical.
