Great video, excellent description
We call it snizzle. It's difficult for us to imagine here in Guatemala!
That must be such a great improvement to life onboard? As you are drawing fuel directly from the main tanks without a limit perhaps you need a low fuel warning light. Some installs for a heater use a separate feed starting part way up the tank ensuring you will always have enough fuel for a few hours engine time. The heater looks good, I notice Alluring Arctic Sailing have a steel mesh barrier beside their stove, that allows the space beside the heater to be used for drying whilst keeping things from contact with the heater. Perhaps you could warm a small kettle to the side?
Great job. Now Adam needs a LARGE scotch. 🧃😂. Cheers and hope you are more comfortable now.
I am at 2:43 and had to just pause the video and comment – I really miss and enjoy these explanations!!! I have been watching for donkey's years and have always followed you… love you both, but I really miss these explanations – no other channel delivers them like you!! MORE PLEASE!!!! OK… Press Play!!
If you hang the pump from a rubber hanger, it should make it quieter. Another idea is to encase it in a round foam aquarium filter
Looks great
Get a little tub of alcohol gel………best primer for a Dickie……
Is it a good idea to base the flue with a piece of flammable wood?
That is just fantastic! I just love watching you two work.
🤠👍
Now it’s a sea going vessel 💪🤙
i cannot believe it took u guys this long to get a heater. Better late……….well done. Cheers and stay safe
look forward to seeing some scottish coastline. the land of my ancestors. Thank u
We call that funny snow "graupel". We pronounce it improperly – "graup" rhymes with "drop".
Congrats on the heater – must feel wonderful. Millie is now an explorer yacht!
Great job!
Love the new Dickinson heater, great install!
Not snow, SLEET! Frozen rain drops. And also not hail. All three form differently. Such a tiny bit of it too. Nice installation. What is the heater rated for? BTUs or whichever units it is labelled for.
Very cool 😎
the hose looks like copper not brass Adam. hehe 🤣
As someone who’s done a couple of thousand flares, you need to deburr the inside of the pipe before you flare and then I see you didn’t flare deep enough, you need to crank the that flaring tool all the way home!
Does it keep the boat warm? Does it add humidity or take it out like a wood burner?
I believe that funny styrofoam snow you experienced is called "graupel." Sometimes known as "corn snow." Fun video, as always! Well done.
😎
Congratulations !!
We used to call that “bean bag” snow. Old 1970’s reference. We had bean bags as furniture. Inside was styrofoam bits… that look exactly like that kind of snow.
Turn the shut off valve 90'….
She is always so giggly, love these guys.
Fair dinkum good job!
Oooooo, it looks great int he cabin there! So cozy!
look for liquid lighter . Its a plastik bottle with a ignition cab. So you light it up, hold it into the oven turn it horizontal and push the bottle a bit. Flame drops will fall to the bottom, where you opened the oil valve about 30sec. prior. It is so much cleaner. I grew up with oil burner.
Isn't a Dickinson just the most handsome thing? The installation is beautiful. But, …… fans? I have been on boats with Dickinson stoves with fans and a few without. There is no comparison in terms of the comfort they create in the immediate cabin and throughout the boat. My suggestion – install at least two more fans than you might think are needed. Moving warm air is magical.
Well done Adam these “little” jobs usually escalate perseverance the only solution, nothing like a flame to feel warm and cosy.
One dorade less? That's a bummer.
Nice project, good execution!
Looks nice 🔥
I have one in my boat, it works very well.
When you do work outside on the deck in the cold or bad weather, why don't use some plastic sheeting and make a temporary tent to work underneath?
I haven't watched a single second so far but I had to click 'Like' instantly for that beautiful, warm smile in the tumbnail – next level!
So glad you finally cut the notch out of the bottom of the backing plate. My OCD was screaming for about 23 seconds. 😊
I always said your videos were hot stuff!😍
Looks Great. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Great heaters. Get your self a heat powered fan to sit on top. Makes a huge difference in spreading the heat through the boat. Great work!
Well done, finally all complete and a great job. You will be wanting that Scottish Winter to go on forever…oh hang on, it does 😉
Who knew it would be so interesting to watch a heater install! Must be the two of you!
Nice diesel heater – now don't forget to install a carbon monoxide alarm, if you don't have one already
Well done guys, great video. Please just confirm you have carbon monoxide alarm
Warm at last 😃 Glad you're enjoying the Scottish winter. Enjoy your heater, will make a big difference.
