Great video of the Fleming 60, Nick. Thanks for coming on board.
Fleming, Elling and Viking🥰🥰🥰 and other brands building long-range steel explorer or long-range steel trawler yachts😊
Nick what’s video fabulous, if I win the lottery I am
Thinking a Fleming is the boat for me 😊
Maggie's back!! Yay!😁 Great video as always. I like boats of this size.
Here’s a question Nick. The cooker top has these stainless steel grips for the pots and pans whilst cooking at sea and I think it’s a great idea but why no fiddles, your pots might be safe and the food in them, but then the moment you start to dish it out, one roll and it’s all over the deck. Why for goodness sake when the solution is in use on millions of yachts worldwide every day?
What is just as good (if not better) about Flemming Yacht's, are Tony Flemming's videos of his travels aboard Venture!
My favourite boat this year thanks Nick.
Nick another great video on a truly beautiful boat. A explorer yacht ? A serious off-shore yacht ? Not a chance in hell. This is NOT a serious off-shore explorer yacht. Sure it is a great yacht for exploring Lake Superior or Lake Michigan. Be great for the Bahamas and Caribbean, but that is it. The reason is slapping you in the face! Twin 800 hp Mans I6s. 5,455 ltrs of fuel. These engines at 1400 rpms burn 80 ltrs an hour EACH. Top speed is listed at 2300 rpm but at 2000 rpms these beasts are burning 140 ltr per hour each or 280 ltrs total. Range with 5455 ltrs of fuel and 455 in reserve would be about 400 NM. At 1500 rpms the burn is 100 ltr per hour each. These engines are intended to run between 1400-2000 rpm. All this fuel burn does not take into consideration the generators running to power the stabilizers. So this yacht has a shit range period. Even at the slowest speed 8 knts the range is only 2000 nm. That is not even trans-atlantic. Put a pair of 350s or even a singel 400 and you could get the range near 3000 nm. or more.
So please brother do not tell me this is a serious off-shore cruser. It is a semi-displacement power boat with trans-bahama range.
Be happy, be safe
That price is laughable
The exterior access to the flybridge looks quite steep 🤔
I passed the original Ozmaiden (from your thumbnail), now renamed Glen Orchy (from the 80s I believe, a 55) in Scotland last week. Assume the original owners went on to buy another Fleming….
I remember "Flemming" from when ai was a kid. 80s.
I've not seen them for a while. ?
I always thought of them as proper boats without frills.
Loved that boat.
Thanks Nick.
All the best to you all.
Fantastic practical yacht you could pull the plug in for months 😎 Thanks for a monster of a tour 😊
Proper boat that. Wood. Not loads of glass everywhere. Carpets. Nice.
What sort of hull shape does this boat have??? I was surprised at 20 knots flat out. Figured its full displacement, 12 flat out, cruise at 8, one big six cylinder tractor engine type of deal. Anyways, as far as the style goes, this is my type of boat. Love all the warm teak wood, the cream color, it just feels homey and like you are on a boat. Can't stand all this grey, black, white nonsense that's in style now, or the flashy ass gin palace/pachinko parlor decor on some yachts.
Unlike many boats like this on YouTube, the interior on this Fleming just looks really comfortable. High quality, exquisitely done, but still just really livable. I envy the owners of this boat. 😊
A very cool Video. When i saw the disign of the cabins…. i feel remembered on the se clood 2. A 3 Mast Stil und crouse Ship. All this Woods and so. Wounderfull.
Kann man diese künstliche, nervige Stimme abschalten??
Nice canoe.
The door operation instruction was spot on
She looks naked without the teak rails
What a brilliant boat. I would love one. Got everything you might need. Thanks very much Nick
That boarding feature on the stern looks dangerous, deadly even.
I can see there's a lot of thought gone into that.👍
Thanks again for a detailed video. I always wonder in how far the walls and doors between the cabins have sound insulation. They seem so thin. I would prefer not to hear what is going on in the cabin next to me, but it LOOKS as if one could easily follow a conversation. Is the technology of these modern boats so advanced that there is good sound proofing? Thank you!
Not a fan of a California deck, always seems like a waste of space to me. But the rest of it is perfection.
The ultimate boat for me.
I have a Question : Imagine you are under way [just left the harbor] … Your Mrs [or girlfriend] has gone below to use the head and you are busy plotting your passage to your next port when a Pirate gang of 4 in a fast dinghy come up at you from the rear and 3 of them board you … can one of the Pirates take control your vessel from that unit @1:55 allowing the other 2 to throw you overboard and make off to an alternate destination with your boat and Mrs ??
Or is there some kind of lockout once you are under way to stop that from happening ?
How about an unserious cruising, for a change?
Beautiful craft, my first stop when the lottery win happens. Majorca here I come!!!
A classic Nick walkthrough with details on the pilot house equipment and engine room. Hope you start doing this with all boats again.
Thanks a lot Nick.
Modern Controls for docking –
You dont have to ‘Learn’ how to dock anymore
Excellent video Nick.
Her flag got me curious and I spent a little while googling and eventually found it. Had there been a little more wind we may have seen that yellow shamrock a little more clearly. The Ensign of the Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club.
As for the boat, she's a real beauty, thx for the tour.
