1. Glad you got the boat and got past first day nerves and are on your way! Looking forward to the updates and the journey. Hopefully you won't find any more patchwork or missing components (ones you actually need).
    Donate for a Dream

  2. You guys are doing great! I hope the updates and fixes are going well (In Florida)? Thanks for taking us along.

  3. First off, happy belated birthday🎂!! Learning so much about the hand over process from the moorings. Hope you have plans to do a recap video and lessons learned. Good luck on the upgrades!

  4. Thank You for all the updates on the boat. Glad to see you Finally got the boat.
    Now the "FUN" begins!
Can't wait to see the upgrades you are going to do with the boat. And to see where you are going to go.
Who knows, you might sail to my neck of the Pacific Ocean. The Big Island of Hawaii! If you do! Drop us a line. You can stay in the Ohanna, and injoy our Ocean Views from our lanai.
So until next time, Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii!🌋🍹🥂

    P.s. Happy Belated Birthday!

  5. ….. laughing ….. well you got away before they took anything else of the boat ….. nothing like 1200 miles to get the feel for the boat, break you in …. looks like you got a a good supportive crew on board … happy belated, two months late, birthday … thx for the share .. as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans …..

  6. We are sad for the misgivings of the Moorings management for not being up front with the Vessel issues, we hope this is all sorted to allow you to get back home so you can plan for your future crossings and adventures – Take care and be safe 😊

  7. I would always say that when you view a boat you're interested in buying, take thorough video and photo records of every inch of the boat. But also, make sure you inform both the agent and the seller that the reason you are doing it is so you know exactly what is and isn't on the boat before you make an offer. Plenty of owners remove stuff after selling and swear blind that they told you that it would be gone before hand over.

  8. Hey Rob. I have a bridge you might be interested in.

You have Moorings on film admitting theft of parts from a boat you've contracted to buy after the survey, and your response is "I understand, it's an island". No wonder they think they can get away with screwing everyone over.

  9. Wow, very brave to take a boat you've never sailed or shaken down and tested on a long ocean passage! Especially after discovering the boat had been looted for parts.

  10. Is that a 4 year old ex charter Leopard 45? I was thinking of buy a 46PC and putting it in charter with them for 4 years, then selling her. Any advice. Thanks

  11. Sorry I have to say this but, when I saw your Caption throw his safety harness down when ask by his first mate to put it on when they were on passage and were the only two people on board I decided I had to say to the Captian😢 it is very dangerous to be outside on a passage without wearing a safety harness and hooked up to your safety lines. Specially after dark and only two people on board. 😢 Please remember the Captian is responsible for the safety of all passengers on board. Sail on Captian. Be safe not sorry.

  12. I'm new to the channel so this might be a dumb post but I'll just pass on that the Wynns (Gone With The Wynns) had a sailing instructor on the boat giving them lessons, and tests, before they really took off sailing so both knew quite a bit more about sailing, safety, navigating, and about their boat. They couldn't say enough about how much it helped them both.

  13. I'm pretty sure that "removing" an item off your boat after you have bought it, is called stealing. That's a really bad look, for Moorings to be cannibalizing a sold boat so that they can make some extra bucks. Not to mention that no one was tracking that it was missing and had to be replaced.

  14. Agree with others that missing unit could be a charge controller – however the screw holes do not seem to match with Victron unit in my view – another item could be a external alternator controller (like Balmar) – that seems to match the loose wires – do you have an upgraded (higher output) alternator on one or both engines ?
