The dagger board must be binding at the rear because you lowered the front first, and it's not meant to go that way. Perhaps a loop of the cable is in the well alongside the daggerboard creating a bind.
You won't truly know until you can get the boat raised High Enough to remove the daggerboard . And this you must do. Good luck! ❤❤❤
Hi
Thought you guys stopped your channel.. huh
Happy New Year Catalpa crew!
Fixing any boat is time consuming!.

WC Wilcox Crittenden
Perko and grocko are after market knockoffs of old school originals. Old school are buck alcalquin and Wilcox Crittenden. Good luck mate. I lived in WA for a few years, my oldest lives in Perth and is building a 44ft steel
WC Wilcox Critenden…
Me again mate, I've got a 300+ lb bronze centerboard. Yours looks fiberglass or steel. Hopefully steel, need weight to bring down.
🎇 Happy New Year 🎆 🩷🤠🩷
Can you of 2023 has been full of outstanding videos from your family get amazes me Lee why you are able to make things work a lot of people take that talent for granted I think it is awesome and having your own sailboat with your family on it, we take a lot of thinking outside the box when it comes to fixing things to keep you and your family safe. Is New Year's Eve here and I'm sure you're out of penasco by now I'm from Glendale Arizona and it's been very hard with them shutting that border down It's really hurting the people down in Penasco and we people in Arizona are upset because we can't get down there unless we want to drive 6.5 hours out of the way . Happy New Year to you and your family May God keep you all safe and get back on the water safe sailing God bless
HAPPY NEW YEAR you guys. This was a most interesting video, and your ingenuity and determination is to be admired. Thank you Lee, for having us all along even if you are stuck in a harbor port. Fireworks tonight?
Well done you guys, hard work now for great enjoyment later. Wishing you the very best for 2024, from NZ.
Looking at the Indian style grinding, toes are cheaper per dozen.
Is there a lock to carry the load when up so its not resting under tension?
Happy new year 🎉
Awesome work
Lee and crew are doing great
Happy new year 🎊🎈🎆
Think 'WC' on that big fella might stand for Wilcox Crittenden. I may have spelt Crittenden wrongly.
Hey that’s great work !!
if you lift the front on a car jack the back will stay down .
Good job all around.
I’ve got to admit that I’m a touch jealous of the four of you working together to deal with Catalpa’s osmosis pimple problem.
Dealing with the same snag on a 1960’s built 23’ one-design open keelboat on my own is starting to drive me slowly nuts.
Like you, I planed it very lightly and have come to regret not just growing a pair and taking a good thickness off, followed by re-glassing. It would have been quicker and not cost a kidney more.
Nothing for it but to keep on keeping on and look forward to the day it’s finished, which definitely helps.
Happy New Year to all of you. 😎👍🍻
Hope you have a happy new year 🎉
Go Faster.cut harder!!! C enter board. Hold more wind. Ten reach out…. ❤️ In ten zizel 2:00
Power on. You are inspiring the project-laden among us. Thank you for posting.
I’ve been wondering about that center board. Can’t wait til next episode.
Tried West Marine Marina Del Rey, West Marine Redondo Beach, or Redondo Marine Hardware? If they have them, I can grab and ship/hold as needed.
Curious, is the white the last coat, or do you put a color coat on it? No bootstrap?
Sergestion on keel lift the boat high enough to drop it out all together and the side plates for the pins fwd make out of fiberglass about 5mm thick plates to the size you need sika them on with with a bout 4 taped bolts or screws .No rust and ezy to service . And moving the cable box to above the water line graet idea . your through hull valves are som of the best on the market so good job saving them alot of the stainles steal ones these days are crap and standising was a great idea . You were talking about bonding in an earler eposde be carefull with this as i have seen it have the operset efect it is a sience on its own try bonding some fitings and see how it goesand what hapens . Good luck here from OZ and happy new year.
Hi guys. I feel with you I got the same head aches on my boat. You doing a great job also posting those you tube videos it's very time consuming. Love and a happy new year. Keep'm going. ❤👍😎
WC. Wilcox Crietion valve
ya'll are doing a ton of work in this one haul out, quite ambitious.
You.realize that a professional shipyard is obligated to replace all the through hulls with new valves since they are liable for everything in the event that one fails. This is why most old boats are only good for the trash no matter how much love and care you give them. In fact by doing the repairs yourself and making critical decisions about what is still good and what may not be, shifts all the liability onto yourselves.
Of course just choosing to go out to sea, does the same thing but a charter business can not afford to take such risks and must have all below-waterline problems resolved by the shipyard.

The Lukeville-Sonoyta Port of Entry will be reopening Thursday, January 4th, one month after U.S. Customs and Border Protection shuttered the crossing as a result of increased migrant arrivals on Dec. 4.
In my younger years… I enjoyed working on my sailboats.. So much, that my wife was jealous of the boat. So… the marriage didn't last.
