I walked by that tiny park with all the lizard statues in it with a head full of mushrooms in the late '90s once. Good times.
Those Herrings aren't pickled, they are marinated in brine. They are an acquired taste. I didn't like the first time I tasted them but now I absolutely love them. You should sprinkle the chopped onions over the herring and lay the Dill slices on top. Loved this vid Sam. I spent many years living in Holland and working on the traditional sailing ships like the one you toured.
Hi Sam,
It's good to hear from you again. I am glad to know you are doing ok.
I have a question for you. Who opperates the camera for you? Are you staying in Europe for awhile? You seem to fit in very nicely there.
Happy holidays.
Ah…the Dutch. They are an amazing people. So knowledgeable…and then their English is bloody good too.
Did you notice the irony of eating “pickled herring”
I like how some Dutch people literally translate sentences into English. When the dutch skipper was explaining the English rudder system: "do you see it (be)fore you?"(as in: 'in front of you'), Coming from: "zie je het voor je?", properly translated: "can you picture it?" 😄. I do love my little country
Great to be in the Netherlands. If you ever sail the IJssel to Kampen, let me know! I live there. I've been following you for over 2 years.
Love your music…all the slick rock is just annoying! Congratulations on a great sailing season!
nice episode sam, and Congratz on 200k Subs!
Another hit single by Sam. The windmill song! Classic. We need a "Sam's Sailing Greatest Hits" album! LOL 🤣🤣
I wish I could grow a beard like this man. If I was in Amsterdam I would be taking part in some of the local Cannabis Shops haha
Use a fork American
Enjoy. Safe travels. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I thought boats used the water they are sailing in to cool the engines.
Thanks Sam. I will miss the pickled herring vids again this winter.
Maybe someone will get you a boat over the winter 😀
Unboxing while high…Must be in Amsterdam.
Can't wait for Antarctica .
Sam, when are you returning to your shop in NC? The videos you made there were very informative.
your expression on rating the pickled herring was priceless.
whos the babe ?
enjoyed.
16:00 A beautiful, elegant woman…
New bike? Hope you got a strong enough lock to deter the thieves. 🤞
"One hundred years ago they did everything with nothing and now we do nothing with everything"
Haha her dress matched the pickled herring. Sorry I found that funny.
Excellent cheese in the Netherlands, spent time there in the late 80s early 90s great food awesome waterways.
Man the captain of the ship was awesome, just a technology they use back then it’s just amazing even to the wind foils they use now on the back of ships. What a treasure to find that guy.
I’m going to use that saying doing everything with nothing having everything and doing nothing.
Sam, what make is that beautiful ship with sideboards?
I have to tell you, that home baked ukelele has a future. I lifts my spirits because it isn't Pinky and Perky with auto tune. Rock on Sam!
On one hand, the end-of-season atmosphere bums me out, but on the other Sam never stops moving and sailing so I look forward to whatever's next, for example taking Zoey to Martha's Vineyard in a bathtub you found in a scrapyard
That's the 2nd time today I have heard that quote about doing everything with nothing….must be a sign. Great video Sam.
✌✌✌
Dutch person here. Was expecting funny story from an old sea hand in not great English…. then comes a lecture on "laminary flow"… LOL, i love this guy.
Great video. We loved sailing in the Netherlands. The people are so amazing, inspired I learned to speak Dutch.
Lol, I don't think that kindly Dutch seaman had any clue about the sailing knowledge or experience of who he was talking to!
I know the nieuwe maen! They even asked me to sail with them to Enkhuizen but I didn't have the time 🙁
The biocide helps the diesel. Also top up the tank. Less air in the tank helps.
