Woah … I was so caught up by the narrative, the voice, the word craft, the images … that I was caught off guard when Day 3 log entry ended! Well
Done and I look forward to Day 4
I keep waiting for "Captains Log: supplemental"
Love every minute, the new ye olde format. Mon Capitan! Your video’s are brilliant as far as I am concerned and watched you for 3-4 years roughly and would love to sail with you one day, anyway keep doing what you do stay safe all of you, love Dave from Shetland.
awesome thanks
My Wind instrument broke 3 years ago. I have been trying for three years to get it fixed but always faced with the choice wait at dock for repair or sail. I choose to sail.
Last year, I put my 12 year old grandson through ASA 101. It was awesome because his first day on a sailboat saw 38 kt winds, broke the mainsheet from the traveler, and taught him that there is only the choice to keep sailing when everything goes wrong. I love this series. It presents the troubles and decisions that we all must make when sailing. Only this presents them in situations that don't include – Let's strike the sails and motor in.
BTW, motoring was not used when everything went wrong. We had a great instructor who did not allow that option.
I'm taking him on his first offshore experience this month. And I hope to cross the Atlantic next year. Thanks for letting me join you in your experience.
BTW, the only wind instrument on our boat is a windex and some tape on the shrouds.
Awesome x3
These log style videos are very refreshing to see. Dont think ive ever seen any other channel try this type of video.
Well done matey for your genius.
May you forever have safe travels.
Talking of sailing without instruments, my buddy boat has a chart plotter but no depthsounder (even though a full time cruiser). He drops anchor to find the depth in shallow water:)
Awesome 👌 Super 🆒️ 👌 👏 👍 🙌
Please make the videos longer 🙏
✌❤🍀 🌬⛵
Haha. Sailed 8 yrs wo my mhu. Oh, and sailed across the Yucatan channel without any electronics because I couldn't buy new batteries in Cuba. That was FUN!
James these little 'captain logs ' are a stroke of genius. Well done!
Good story James! Glad you're digging the lack of wind instruments. Great great great grandaddy didn't have one either. I always laugh when folks ask me how I sail without one… I in turn ask them… Well how does it really help me? I can hear the wind direction by looking straight into it, feel and hear the power in the rig, and feel it on my skin. That's pretty much it. So how do you tell it?
LOVE your daily "Captain's Log" episodes, James!
Got my attention, great story telling James!
The story telling is as vivid as a video. Love it. The music is yours?
Digging the new format for the crossings.⛵️🇨🇦🍻
Love this format.
Really enjoying these logs. Keep them coming please.
Thank you James. Your'e the BEST mate.
Enjoyed the inner dialogue similar to Christian Williams whiling away the hours on any theme as we’re mesmerised with the perpetual sailing. Too good Zingaro.
So James, Captain, you have such a great following ability, in the voyage log. Describes what real seamanship is. and life on board
Thanks for the layman’s terms explanation’s, I am not a sea person, but learning something new is always enjoyable.
I have loved this captains log series!
Love your work. I'm sure you have already, but I think you should WRITE A BOOK…..
Great log series, diesel can does not look like it’s attached well .
The last few captain presentations are really good with these episodes!
Capt J, extremely thankful and grateful for you, you calm a Sea dog's life. ⛵ 🚢
James the Captains log series is excellent the best I've seen from a YouTube sailing channel. I think you should incorporate the Captains log into the beginning of all your future videos.
I really like how you are portraying these current editions, great style. Thanks
Love your daily ships logs. What you say and how you say it, makes me feel like I am on the ship with all of you.
such a great Idea to do the vlogs this way. love to watch them
none of my sailboats, when i bought them, had wind instruments. i still haven't fixed them haha.
Will be adding the Philip Rhodes planned self-tacking jib back in the sail plan. Helpful in inland waters. Surprised not just using a sheet on the jib? Turning sheets, helpful to turn or backwind maneuver. Enjoying the series.
Just got the new shirt I didn't know how to do it and how to send you a video so I posted it on my channel it's all yours check it out my channel sucks though sorry
Feel like I'm watching Swiss family Robinson!where's the guitar cappy!
Dude!! I love this pirate story telling.. 👍
You have found your groove, love the new platform series.
Lol … I have "almost" ZERO electronics on Blue Dragon 😎. Where is next stop after the Azores? I'm in Tenerife in the Canarie islands currently.. would love to meet and have a beer.
