Royal and Sun Insurance – Douglas 32 – 1973 – Coastal Canada/USA $1M liability 10K replace. $350/ year
Ahoy, all you salty scally wagers. My little 20' nordica thinks she's 30' but don't have the heart to tell her any different… any who she's out on the hard right now on the north tip of Cape breton Island and fully insured with the cooperators. I don't know how much it costs me but I think it's not too much because my wife still talks to me, and she pays all the bills. Great episode, and I will call you when I go searching for my Hans Christian
Captain of the Black Whale
Ours is a 1978 Islander Freeport 41. We are insured through Progressive Insurance Co.
This is off topic but I hope you read it and respond.
We are headed to the East Coast and Bahamas in July 23. A guy sent me a message about anchorages not being very available or good on the route East. What is your experience with this?
1981 Aloha 34 – Gallagher Skippers Plan by Aviva – 2 million liability here in Ontario. Maybe we will see you this summer as we plan on going to the Thames for a little weekend jaunt. We are in Belle River.
1973 C&C 30 MK1 (in Maryland) – GEICO through BoatUS. I sail primarily in the Chesapeake Bay.
I need to ask a question?? I have a S2 8.0 it has a 4-stroke 15 horsepower tiller motor on the back… can I put a regular motor on there that's not a tiller motor??
I want about a 30 horsepower, can I put a regular 4-stroke 30 horsepower motor that is not a tiller motor???
And thank you again
Thanks for including the PDQ 36, a wonderful boat, would prefer two 15hp high thrust Honda outboards with 25 inch shaft.

Do you ever actually go sailing?
Geico raised my 2011 Audi to 740 dollars for six months of coverage. lolol. I've never registered a claim in my entire 750,000 miles lifetime of driving. Guess from now on we'll have to switch to driving a sailboat.
BoatUS Geico… 2007 Jeanneau SO 45 … $3049/yr based on the Chesapeake with no limit within US waters
… Seeing what others are paying I definitely need to go shopping again
I'm sure Lloyds will insure just about anything– and it will cost.
1985 Islander P40 $1800/yr for $30,000 in coverage… premium went way up without the Diesel discount (boat is all electric)… I declined the policy and now only have liability… I want to reflag the boat in Portugal and get insurance with Pantainius and drop State Farm…
You're too much into plastic fantastics. Could you imagine buying that Beneteau over that Pacific Seacraft for even the same price? I have a 1978 Contessa 26 insured for $300/yr full coverage BoatUs.
This was a good episode. I think the only other boat I'd add is the Cape George. There are some out there for sail, and I think that SV Minniehaha in the GGR is a reping this boat well.
Cocomo, 1982 O’Day 34, $610 for 2022 with RSA.
After reading the comments, I'm thinking I have a great bargain on liability insurance:

– Ive had this policy with BoatUS/Geico since 2001 with no claims

Hi. I am a Swiss, Canadian Cititzens. My Fiance is Spainard and Colombian. I am almost ready to sail from Spain, to the Caribbean, to maybe Kap Horn and up to Vancouver Island. I have a FELLOWSHIP 33, Buildt 1984. All new, including 50HP Engine and Transmission. I am looking for a good, reliable, Insurance with folks who want to work on MY behalf. I would take Options too and a good coverage. The boat is currently registered in Poland. But I want to leave Europe and come home to Vancouver Island. Glad for any help and advise.
