În acest videoclip sunt în Bimini Bahamas și lucrurile încep să se spargă pe barca mea. Îmi dau seama că trebuie să mă întorc în SUA și Miami pentru a obține piese, ca să pot continua.

Couldn't you have taken the alt. off and found someone with a socket to take the pulley off?
EV drama would be a great name
Suck it up buttercup. Maybe a few male hormones can help
In order to do what you wish to do you need full tool set spare everything sail repair stuff lines anchors etc etc. Otherwise forgetabout it
Great episode man! Lot's of drama and suspense. Love the drone shots! Can't wait till next week.
Will take time to refine your process. Tools, spare parts, backup options for power generation for your instruments etc. If you watch any of these sailing channels it takes them years to refine their boat setup and onboard tools and backup parts. It’s pretty common for them to break something on each passage. Easy for me to say from my warm dry living room but it’s probably worth some thinking in the off season on that one. What happens if you break a shroud or a stay or steering cable etc. etc. Still loving the content. People making comments on the drama but if it was my first time in Bimini and I had no alternator and couldn’t change it so had to sail back across the Gulf Stream without it I’d be shitting bricks too lol.
I'm sitting here shaking my head. So many self-inflicted wounds.
take it to someone with the right socket and air tool. Any tire repair guy or mechanic would be able to help you. Get a spare spindle for your spare alternator
Great video captain. ✌🏽
A long way to get a new alternator, but not a lot of parts available in Bahamas except for Nassau and Georgetown. Flying parts in/importing parts in is very expensive.
Water in the outboard's oil– – that is a big concern and sounds like maybe a leaking head gasket (pray it is not a crack allowing water to seep into oil sump). I assume it is a 4 stroke based on your comment of water in oil. Might try lapping the valve if you take head off as it may increase compression, better fuel burn, less fouling of plug. Best to fix while in Miami- your sailboat is your house, your dinghy is your car and your visit to and enjoyment of the Bahamas will be quite restricted without your car.
Listen man you can replace the carbon brushes on an alternator they're 10$cnd if you buy them at an alternator rebuild shop and they're usually super easy to replace. Buy a bunch of spares and keep a good toolset onboard along with tons of Allen keys and maybe a cheap impact. This should serve as a good lesson to never be under tooled or unprepared. I speak from experience, love the channel, sail on brotha!
A well deserved cold beer….cheers mate
Do you have a dc to dc charger between the alternator and the battery bank to limit the current the batteries will draw from the alternator?
Talk about Murphy's Law! Hate to see all these things happening to you, but it makes for great content for us couch sailors! Keep pushing forward!
Learn as you go. Keep it up. You had other good options rather than sailing back to Miami. There are so many sailors with the tools, parts and skills eager to help other sailors, especially in a place like George Town. Also, you can have parts flown in much cheaper than what it cost you to sail back. Also, don't ever swim against the gulfstream as you were trying to get back to Miami. You're ALWAYS better off to spend the last amount of time in the current as possible, which means sailing perpendicular to the current.
Hi. Wow lots of drama. I am glad your ok and you got the outboard going.
I think a good set of quality tools would come in handy. Wouldn't hurt to have a extra alternator, one with the right pulley. It would be a easy to replace. Replace the belts with new ones. Keep the old ones as spares. Just a thought. You rely on your charging system.
You must have a Diesel engine?, they require no electricity to run. Need power to turn the starter.
Take care ,bye for now.
Thank you for sharing your journey and I am looking forward to your next video.

Oh man! What a venture. It really shows us that you have to be ready for anything. Thanks for sharing your experience Mike! 🙂
That was more than a 'couple issues 🤦🏻♀️. Sending you good vibes & sailing highs! Oh PS, I believe you meant to use the quote," No rest for the wicked; not no sleep for the wicked & I only mention it as you are pretty close to being the exact opposite of wicked. Sail On; Sail on Sailor
So your alternator is bad and you think that is bad enough to go all the way back to Miami motoring most of the way? WTF. Find someone with a gear puller and yank that pull off and put it on your spare alternator!
You are authentic and that’s brilliant. Keep the faith. You are doing great. Love your drone shots of the harbour.
