17. Seriously, you're at times better than Bloomberg in reporting on these superyachts. I get the feeling that the daughter of "Mister G" was trying to be tricky to regain control of that superyacht. Seem to recall another "my daughter owns it", or similar, ploy in Germany, and they simply placed the other person onto a sanctions list. The easy update would be for the US to update the sanctions list with one, or more, new names.

26. It seems to me when putins cronies attempt to hide the ownership with family, then those persons are also sanctioned, and ALL Sanctions should be returned to this vessel .

27. 7:20 it doesn't sound like a yacht that's been abandoned to me. Unless I've misunderstood the totality of the sanctions as they relate to these yachts.. with the finances being sanctioned they can't make payments to the crew and repairs and the like.

28. it is fitting that a Russian criminal can only enjoy his yacht in Dubai, where all you can do is stay indoors and spend money. As for Alpha Nero, I am tempted to think a Russian oligarch who considers bribery and lawlessness as just ways to get things done , probably thought he had enough money spread around to avoid the sanctions. After all, he is very rich, to an extent that spending even the cost to buy another yacht to get this one off the dock would be inconsequential to him. Still, a sea voyage in a gilded cage with no place to go besides the same second string locations would get to be frustratingly boring .

    Maybe these Russian boys like boats so much because of the safety factor if they happen to unexpectedly fall from a great height.

29. Sanctions used to be applied jointly by UN Security Council to rogue nations breaching international law. Are now leveraged by US Attorney's for foreign policy in a " the law is whatever we say it is" methodology. One can't be surprised when owners act in the same direction.

41. All those new owners will have bought a big headache .If you have that much money so you want the hassle of buying a boat that belongs to someone else . They will have to be very careful where they sail , it could be seized at any time from the real owners once his nightmare is over .
