1. Sir, apart from the tragic consequences to the injured crew that is to my mind, quite mind-numbingly awful, there is the obvious question of, as it lays, tender Reel Wild didn't seem to have anything clearly, abruptly stopping it's forward motion at claimed 40 plus knots.
   Yes hitting those rock at speed would have likely caused injuries or death to those aboard but why didn't the tender traverse further, even across and into the water on the other side?
   Asking for a friend.

These ladies should also Sue the Saint-Barthélemy Municipal Police force(Territorial Police Service) for laziness, stupidity or just plain corruption for not holding, arresting or at least taking a blood sample from the Captain of the Real Wild after he not only damaged the his vessel and the local environment but severely injured his passengers.
   Am I the crazy one here ,why is nobody asking this question???

3. The captain acted like a drunk teenager and deserves to be held accountable for his actions. A ship captain is the ultimate responsible party on board a vessel and is trusted to hold the best interest of all souls on board.

While I understand the actions of the captain were abhorrent, filing this lawsuit in the US federal court system is a great example of forum shopping, something that needlessly clogs up the US court system…largely because tort law is so much more favorable in the US for plaintiffs than it is largely anywhere else. This is foreign-owned boat, registered under a flag of convenience involved in an accident outside of US territorial waters involving a foreign national who happens to have some kind of residency in the US. This is a claim that should be heard and settled in the Saint Barthélemy, a collectivity of France, not the US.

21. tbf if it was traveling at 44knots at the time of impact surely it would be futher into the rocks and EVERYONE would be severley injured and all flown way out of the boat????

22. Who knows if drugs were not involved also hence the Captain’s reluctance to take a alcohol/drugs test, I wouldn’t be surprised with the news coming out, its rife in the yachting industry.
