THE LEGEND HERSELF! Just started “Self-Sufficient Sailor”, 3rd edition. Stoked for this episode.
these are great. another inside look into the sailing life.
Lebt mal in Deutschland.
15:49 So cute & funny!
YEAH BIG DOG!!! 🐶
These interviews are wonderfully candid. They are great contributions to the cruising channels
Good one James
What an epic opportunity to chat with such a well-known inspiration. I'm loving this part of your journey
Thank you, James, Lin, and david. Amazing conversation. I wish I learned about Sailing during my youth. You all make it sound like worthwhile adventure for energetic people. 😊
What a wonderful interview, I hope it is just part 1! Lin sounds like she has more stories than you have batteries so it would be so awesome to have another story telling with her. Thank You, James.
So many pearls of insightful wisdom … thank you!
Fantastic interview! Such lovely people.
🙂🙌☕️
Love all the YARNS, but this one well spun! Throughly enjoyed this! A Woman who is very unique! Thanks! I smiled wider, laughed, and shaked my head in awe! 😘
Ah, really…! This was one of the great interviews that make this series, alone, a treasure for future sailors and adventurers to find. Recorded so casually, like an after-dinner conversation aboard, feeling the timeless rhythms of the sea, when words just seem to crystallize memories and learned wisdom to be passed on, ear to ear, heart to heart. What rang truest to me was the paring down that must happen, and then the commitment that follows – whether in choosing a boat, a lifestyle, outfitting – in cruising or in trekking. Finding the "raw;" making it happen; finding the people (not just the sceneries) that turn memories into our history. Deep thanks, Lin and David, and thanks, James, for dedicating your channel so wisely to all this.
This one is going to be hard to beat.
Thank you
I am 71yr old and after listening to your guests I realize that I wish I learned about Sailing during my youth. I am considering sailing at my age and maybe I can have some of my own tales to tell. I don't think it is too late to start. I really enjoyed your program. Thanks.
Again a wonderful episode James! I love Yarns! A beautiful insight to some amazing people!
Cheers from Southern California USA 🇺🇸

James, YARNS comes across to me as some of your best work. I could be wrong but you seem to enjoy making them. Keep them coming.

Brilliant , love it ,,and guess this is what it all about not only the places you get to see but the magic people you meet , Thank you for sharing inspiring stuff James !!!
Read a lot of Pardey literature over the last 4 decades. Good to see Lin is sharp as a tack and still living her best life. Onya Dave for being key to her later life.
Great work James 👍
Great interview. They are rock stars.
What a life you’ve had
Happiness comes from within
Also now they want you to have a captains license if your boats above 26’. I guess because so many people are buying boats.
For a deck hand at most. It is such a wonderful transition. The personal stories give way. Next thing one knew, you are hearing about sailing.
thanks…truely wonderful interview
Wonderful update on these cruising icons. Thank you James!
Wonderful conversation ❤thank you
Wonderful 🙂
Splendid!!!!!
Amazing interview! Just bought some of Lin’s books. Can’t wait to read them ❤
Great! Lin and Larry got me sailing and living aboard back in the 80's with no money and no skills. Best part of my life and still a sailing addict. Glad to see Lin is still sailing.
Most wonderful interview. I echo david strumsky's comment. Well done!
