1. Wow, we really went and cut a bloody big hole in Teulu. However, the result made it soo worth it.

Would you tackle the same DIY project, or would you leave a professional to it?

  2. Using the white fibreglass flange is a good idea as it spreads the load out all around the hatch area rather than concentrating at each washer and bolt. Nice work on the hatch. Splicing is such a satisfying task. Cheers

  3. I love how you guys are so positive when it comes to doing stuff you’ve never done. A lot of people would be too anxious to cut a massive hole lol! Very inspiring:)

  4. Great job! It will certainly help keep your cabin cooler. Have you thought about blinds for the sides which will keep alot of heat out. Great video again and safe travels through the Panama canal 😊

  5. Hi guys, you should get an extractor fan which is run by 12 V they are very good I have one in my space pod camper absolutely fantastic extracting all the heat and runs on. Nothing like the brushless motor. Keep up the good work Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺

  6. Hi guys, I definitely would use the flange that way it will support around the hatch Perspex cracks very easily anyway up to you only my opinion I used a lot of Perspex in my life give up the good work Cliff from Logan City Queensland, Australia

  7. When you are applying that black gunge (or any other kind of sticky goop) apply a little and then spread it out with a disposable plastic serrated barbecue knife.

  8. If the cabin heats up "like a greenhouse" try some sun screens in the windows to block the sun's uv rays and heat. You might also want to hang a tarp above the cabin to put the windows in the shade. I've seen other boats do that with good effect.

  9. Zak, what a perfect install on the opening hatch window, truly wonderful. We have followed you both from England and must say, each episode improves with content, you both seem so content and happy with the life you have chose and we couldn't be more thrilled about your coming adventures.

  10. Been watching this channel since the beginning

Great to see how far they have come

You should also support The sailing Brothers which is brilliant as well

  11. I was always worried about your anxiety when it came to the dramas that are associated with sailing and or living on a boat. Glad to see you recognise it as well and have someone to talk to. Calm seas a sailor does not make.

  12. I never comment, little back story. I’ve owned and run a business for many years, I’m 36 now. I stumbled upon you guys maybe 6 months ago. You guys made me question what I was doing with my life, I have a house, many cars and would be considered successful by most, after watching you two I’ve now bought a yacht, I searched for a colvic to no avail, but have something very similar now. Bought it last week. Anyway I could go on and on but the moral of the story is, you guys are inspiring…I’m going to keep my house, sell the rest and follow in your bow wave. Thanks for helping me see life in a different view

  13. Life is about our connections to one another and the world. Wise… your off spring should the two of you get around to that will have a wonderful example to follow! Much love to the both of you.

  14. Just curious… if you know Capt. Kai, the Sea Glass Guy, do ya'll know Katy and Parker on SV Boundless?
Their most recent (1 mo behind?) post included Capt. Kai and they are (were) also in the San Blas.
Just curious as they are a young couple creating liveaboard cruising content and they seem pretty cool…

And cuttin' holes in the boat just feels SO very wrong… LOL

  15. Can't say if it'll turn out important or not. But it might have been safer to have the frame being a slightly looser fit in the window to leave room for thermal expansion. On a similar note, next time you cut a hole in the mast, leave the corners radiused for less risk of cracks forming.

  16. Very good idea to fit the hatch in the windscreen. I have a HR352 which has a hatch in the windscreen that can be opened (from factory), but when I bought the boat the hatch was sealed and locked (old boat). Last year I spent a fortune on new parts from Hallberg Rassy, but it was worth every penny. To have fresh air ventilating through the cockpit on hot days is such a difference! Especially I believe you will cherish this since you have another layout, and are also in tropical weather (I’m in Scandinavia). Hope you will enjoy your upgrade!

  17. you two as videorgrafers just keep getting better and better. and great content. this window content was so so but hey. keep on keeping on. Yippie

  18. Yep, there's nothing quite like the sound of crisp new sails is there? Fantastic job with the new hatch too. Love seeing how far Teulu has come – you should be rightly proud of all your hard work 🙂

    Happy sailing.

  19. Great video and your skills at boatwork are really developing extremely well. You have really impressed us with the way you have moved forward. Congratulations. But Betterhelp – oh no!! Living on a boat, sailing in great waters and having the ability to formulate your own plans should not be chronically stressful nor demand the help from Betterhelp – that's what fiancees and friends are for!
