Este un lucru amuzant la care nu ne-am gândit niciodată. Mările încep calme și se construiesc încet, cu furtuna în așteptare îndreptându-ne spre noi. Este o nebunie unde ne duce mintea când avem timp să gândim. Este dificil să fim prezenți în momentul în care mințile noastre sunt copleșite de atâtea întrebări: ar trebui să stăm în afara sezonului ciclonilor în Tonga sau să ne grăbim să plecăm în Noua Zeelandă? Ar trebui să zburăm acasă și să vizităm familia? Dar pisicile? Pe care dintre piesele rupte ar trebui să le înlocuim pe barca noastră cu pânze? Este șantierul în siguranță dacă părăsim Curiosity? Cât ne vor costa toate acestea? Incotro acum? 😱 Dar, pe măsură ce ajungem în vizorul pământului, copleșirea dispare temporar și entuziasmul nostru se ridică! Tonga arată al naibii de frumoasă! My wife and I were curious after seeing your super extensive list of repairs and replacements that need to be done to the boat why you chose to do it all in Tonga vs. sailing back to the U.S.A.? Obviously the foresight of the Coronavirus didn't play into the planning here and really wasn't a possibility. But it just seems like doing this work and having access to the parts and mechanics/service workers would be exponentially more simple in the U.S.? Curious as to your thoughts here. Fair winds and following seas! Stay safe out there and please keep the outstanding story telling coming. You've absolutely inspired the Shepherds to join you on the open blue waters of the tropics. Can't wait to meet you all in the years to come. 😁

This is such a trip to watch. I found your vlog maybe 3-4 months ago when I started to get intrigued with catamarans and this series has become a routine for my days. I started watching from when you first picked up Curiosity and learning to sail in Ft Lauderdale onward. I feel like I've been through all these places and adventures you spent 4 years documenting in the span of just 4 of my months and its been a rollercoaster while I sit here and wait for a broken bone to heal. It's a trip to watch because now knowing what happens between sailing to Tonga and all that transpires over the next year, and how upended life became for all of us and how none of us saw 2020 through the fog for what it was, what it has been, its just kinda incredible. Thinking back to what I was working on around the same time, what challenges, fears and doubts I had before me… I was so hopeful and twinkle-in-the-eye looking forward to 2020. Much of what was broken in my life over this last year I've slowly rebuilt, through tremendous effort and patience, as you have as well. Its good to see that after everything these last 11 months have been, we're all still pulling through it, one more step forward, one more nautical mile behind us.
