Man plans and God laughs. I applaud your decision to take another crew member. Anything can happen and an extra pair of hands may be very appreciated. All the planning for the best route you think is right is time well spent. However, whatever happens on this passage will be things you remember and talk about for the rest of your lives. …someone please explain why so many sailors think/feel/act like being without wind is the end of the world! They are all content to sit in a marina or on hook "becalmed" but on a passage they act like it matters at all.
