Perhaps Killer Whales are atttacted by the materials or epoxy of what manufacturers are making rudders nowadays. Or, the type of GPS frequency are being used to navigate these boats attracting them to the boats, and the rudders are acting as antennas amplifying the attractants for the Orcas. Because these animals are inherently curious mammals they can't help messing with boat rudders.

I mean we humans think we can just be anywhere we want without second thoughts and without considering we may impact other species. It’s so self-centred. Then there is climate change. The changing oxygen saturation of the oceans leads to their food source dying. Then there is overfishing. Then there’s water and noise pollution, ocean traffic… The animals on our planet are all suffering because of us and our actions.
