I enjoyed the visit with Peter and the boat was magnificent. Oddly, I have a love hate relationship with the combustion engine. It seems I've spent most of my life immersed in everything combustion engine; so much that at the end of the day I turned to sn electric mower and trimmer. A few years back I took the wheel of a MV from Bellingham WA, Juan de Fuca, island hopping and out to Victoria BC. I think it was that experience which truly set my eyes on the capable and attractive sailing vessels of the PNW. Ironically I hate petrol and diesel fumes worse but found myself in a transitional thought process struggling between monohull multihull and back around to motor sailor. I suppose that is where you come in with this absolute almost purity of the sailor sailing vessel experience. I detest the thought of buying handling smelling and sleeping with fuel but the hybrid diesel electric engines were enticing me.
The past few years have taken me away into designs of purely electrical thrust with sufficient photovoltaic collection and LFP storage. A growing appreciation of the SV hull designs ensued. The sea capability is remarkable but PV thrust electrification is appreciably a mere supplemental thrust source fitted to the monohull space which leads as is a good sail plan to the MV leaving the multihull. Retrofitting and fascination with the lure of pure sailing had become somewhat a staple of my hunger but as newbie seamanship had presented itself foremost. Now I watch and I notate as I study these practices I dream of hiring professional engineers and boat builders to create my own shop. Envisioning where I want to venture or be is quite difficult with these constant virtual reality releases of all I'm missing. To strike balance is at my hand but the extremes of the Pacific Coast, the Alaskan passages the Arctic passages the eastern sea board, the great loop and thoughts of an old man resting at the equator fill my days.

Weather has put a damper on winter fishing out of French Creek as I'm sure it is affecting your off season work on the boat.

Another great video. Loved seeing you with Travels With Geordie. I'm currently restoring a 1964 hatteras 34' double cabin to Travel the upper great loop from the Hudson River up to the Saint Lawrence to Prince Edward Island and around Nova Scotia.

I hope your dad is doing well. With Covid running rampant the last couple of years, you don't know if people are still with us or not………..No one in my family group took the jab.(25+ people, ages 6 years to 75(me) We all had covid but different strains. My brother(70) had the delta, my wife and I had the omicron. Some of us took the Ivermectin horse paste and others didn't. I did buy the human form of Ivermectin in Mexico………..AFTER we were over the crud! Kinda funny, in what's touted as being the freest country in the World, we can't buy Ivermectin but if we go across the border, you can buy it over the counter!(:<)
FYI……..I have friends who have taken the vaccine and have had problems, even dying. Several have had strokes and they'll never be the same again. The main reason my wife and I didn't take the jab was my wife almost died back in 1988 from blood clots. We didn't want to take the chance of her going through that again. The more we learn about the RNA vaccine, the happier I am that we didn't take it. (I don't need or want a reply on what I'm writing here either.)
Remember to put on your long-johns before you head back to Yellow Knife………………….you're gonna need them this winter!!!(;>) Best of everything to you guys.

I have found it so odd that there is no fuel at Ladysmith. Like no fuel at Gig Harbor in Puget Sound. HUGE number of boats and marinas in both locations and now neither have a fuel dock.
I'm slowly removing the Cetol from my new to me Baba 30's brightwork. (Not so new to me now as had her for over a year.) I let the Cetol age to near-failing as it comes off very easily when weathered. The finish wood look topsides and below on the Babas and Hans Christians are so similar! I prefer the look and ease of teak oil. I'm also thinking of painting the bulwark to match the cove strip color, seen on a lot of Babas and a good look, and oil the caprail and trim strip that runs below the bulwark.

At the eight minute mark you said you were going to take us for "shots" and I immediately thought not about your perfect photography but of Canadian whiskey, southern tequila, sake'? Hey brother, just found your channel. It's great to see someone on YouTube cruising around where I live. I watched the tour of your ship, so beautiful. I noticed that you are still on lead acid batteries. If you decide to upgrade to Lithium, I run a small company north of you in Courtenay, Green Marine Solutions. I do custom LiFePO4 batteries. By doing them custom, it keeps the price lower, and allows us to fit them almost anywhere. I'm a marine electrician of 20 years, so I can also take care of any electrical needs that you have as well. Keep up the good work with the videos, it's refreshing to see a sailing channel that is calm and relaxing instead of the "flash-bang" that most of them do.
