Apoi, pe măsură ce am rămas fără zone pentru a faima pe pereții noștri mai mari, *încerc* să finalizez un mic proiect, care este șlefuirea și vopsirea santinei din babord. Dar după ce a găsit un suport de colector de duș deteriorat, Matt trebuie să-l repare înainte să pot merge mai departe. Dar, pentru că zonele de depozitare de la tribord de sub canapea sunt acum complete, asta îmi oferă opțiunea de a le șlefui și a le slefui pentru a le pregăti pentru grund și vopsea. Dacă mi s-a părut rău să ajung în dulapuri pentru a nisip și echitabil în dana din față, ei bine, acum mi-am întâlnit perechea. You really need to raid a auto body shop, wait till after dark. They have so many handy sized tools for sanding the trade off is the hose.

I’d definitely use a dust extractor connected to any machine working with fibreglass. Any shop vac will do well. Removes something like 95% of the dust from the air. The dust bags on the machines are close to useless. Use a long hose on the vac, so it can be placed some distance away, and plug the tool into the vac. Then the vac starts when the tool is turned on.
just a tip that worked for me. to clean your sandpaper, cut a block of wood 6 x 6 inches, and break thickish glass as fine as possible. take an old-type coke bottle or similar and put it in a deep steel or plate holder. hammer the bottle. take the wood block and put it onto the glass. hammer the wood block for the glass to go sit in the wood. take the wood and scrape it on smooth cement just to get the very sharp edges of the glass a bit smoother.
And that's why I'd buy a glass bought as opposed to building one. I hate sanding and painting. I build things but for glassing, I got a guy.
Instead of that piece that you cut off going to waste, why don't you just make a fiddle for that top as it's the exact size you need?

keep the counter overhang just as it is for now, when you are ready for finish work, put a wood trim above for a fiddle rail with some going below to hide a led strip light… you can get a multi color to have red lite for sailing and white for cooking…
One of your sawrasps would have made short work out of roughing in that lower radius. Just saying. 🤔

Have you got (or requested) a 3/8” belt sander? This is the one that looks like a long finger off the body of the tool. Great for the tight spots, of which you have more than your fair share of.
If you use the plastic applicator as a first step. Use it to apply the filler. For the second step use a stainless drywall taping knife of 8 or 12 inches depending on open area at a 45* angle. That will speed up your fairing.
Wow, looks like a lot of thankless work. How about some alternate ideas for livening up the winter. Consider: 1. Attending the Miami International Boat Show Feb 15-Feb 19, 2. Making a boat delivery in March to Tierra Del Fuego, and/or (3) attending the Amsoil Snowcross races in Grand Rapids March 24-25. You gotta admit it would be more fun than sanding.
The message that I have gotten loud and clear from your videos to date is "let the people who build boats for a living build boats". You should be sailing, not doing sanding yoga. Life is too short.
