Acest episod se deschide cu Calico Skies părăsind docul din San Carlos după ce uraganul a trecut. Cerul este însorit și senin și am pornit pe un pasaj de 24 de ore îndreptat spre nord-vest pentru a ne duce înapoi spre zona în care eram înainte de furtună, dar și ceva mai în sus de Marea Cortez. Grace ajunge să ia multe dintre ceasuri pentru că Bill a intrat în acest pasaj foarte obosit după o întâlnire de dimineață devreme cu OCC. Unul dintre aceste ceasuri se dovedește a fi cea mai spectaculoasă dimineață senină, unul dintre cele mai frumoase din amintire. Soarele răsare în timp ce luna apune, în timp ce ne împletim prin bazine învolburate de maree de ambele părți ale noastre. Fenomenele actuale sunt deosebit de puternice în această zonă și arcul continuă să fie aspirat de la curs și apoi se întoarce la cursul corect. Este incredibil să fii martor. Odată ancorați, facem o baie în noua noastră curte și ne bucurăm de noul nostru loc pe cârlig. A doua zi, Bill urcă pe catarg pentru a aborda un proiect cu barca; reparându-ne radarul care s-a stricat cu câteva pasaje în urmă. A făcut trecerile peste noapte deosebit de dificile, deoarece este unul dintre sistemele de care depindem atunci când navigăm noaptea în întuneric. Din fericire și oarecum surprinzător, problema se dovedește a fi o simplă centură defectă și se pare că codul de eroare a fost corect. Este o soluție simplă pentru a repara cureaua ruptă și Bill o testează pentru a descoperi că reparația este într-adevăr de succes! Drept recompensă, vom face o scufundare împreună pentru a ne bucura de apa limpede, bogată în pești. De asemenea, avem o misiune de a prinde cina și avem norocul să obținem două Leopard Grouper! Filezăm peștele, apoi mergem la sv OneLife pentru a ne bucura de captură proaspătă la grătar și mâncată împreună între prieteni. Ne bucurăm de un apus de soare drăguț și în scurt timp este întuneric întuneric în timp ce stăm afară și ne uităm la stele… Deodată vedem lumini ciudate pe cer! A doua zi dimineața ne bucurăm de o excursie împreună ca un grup și admirăm cactusul maiestuos din acest loc frumos deșertic. You guys are lucky that the fix to the radar held up that repair will fail so either get a spare belt or o-ring of the correct size and do it now when conditions allow or be faced with it failing when you need it most.

The belt likely needs to be non conductive to static electricity. Rubber would not be good as it might interfer with the signal. But I could be wrong.
Gorgeous filming of the morning waterways and the beautiful bay. Sky. I love that! I'm 43 and my body keeps challenging me so I don't know if I will get to the ocean fun before I cannot do it, but I'm going to fight for my water fairy time! The ocean has always called. You guys are so chill and it's fun to listen to the music, see the sights, and watch the problem solving that you do to keep going and be happy and free!
OMG my friends sister in law went on a Star link launch recently and training was amazingly full of stories! She has to go out a tiny window and do some things then go back in the tiny vansize craft! How crazy you saw a starlink launch AND figured what it was!!!
If you have stretchy shoelaces, could work. I’ve replaced fan belts with shoelaces and nylons.

That radar belt looks like a urethane belt that can be heat fused check McMaster Carr, they might even have premade ones.
Cool to know that glueing a belt is possible. I've seen two starlink launches, the first one the satellites were a bit further apart and it seemed like the other stars were moving until I figured out what was going on (I was walking late at night in the country). Glad I'd seen a vague reference to them. Second time was only a few hours after a launch and I had a good view while kayaking after sunset.
Another beautiful video. I never get tired of watching Bill working on calico Skies. Have you thought of connecting your camera to a small telescope? Virtually no light pollution where you are now, the views of the night sky must be fantastic? I'm looking forward to your next season, a Pacific crossing maybe?

i used a piece of plastic string trimmer string and a little bitty butane torch when mine broke .

That "super smooth bearing" life-span is dependant upon how soon you replace that belt with an original new one. That existing belt that you patched has gotten hard/stiff and overworks the bearings. Cheers!

There are torque specs for reinstalling the radome. Over or under-tightening increases the likelihood of water intrusion.
