What boat is that wheel behind you from?
I’m so impressed with the sailors and boats, especially the IMOCA’s. I can’t believe that there has been more breakage. I thinking it may be useful to have some more padding inside. It can be air filled so it would weigh anything, heck it could be helium filled and weigh negative but those hard surfaces are going to cause some pain to the sailors.
Enjoying the coverage and keep updated on the tracker. Brutal conditions, will be interesting what teams will do for leg 3 with all issues they have face and the conditions they may face in the Pacific Ocean
Could Malizia use the jet between Gran Canaria and Teneriffe to get a jump on the other boats? There is a long blue band of relatively low wind speeds, would that be an option?
Mind, they would need to avoid the TSS, but using the jet seems like an option.
Or will they all pass the Canaries on the west side?

I've been waiting years for this race to start again. To be honest I haven't seen any media about the start of the race or anything, it wasn't until the last second of this video that I found out it was the round the world old Volvo race. I thought this was some European cup or something.
Imoca 60 sailors working from a completely dry interior AND they don't actually steer their boat……a computer steers it.
VO65s…… they actually can work on the deck while going forward AND they actually drive their boats, not a computer.
Yeah……… loads more impressed by the VO65s.

This is a great event. I’m only sad it doesn’t stop in South Florida anymore. I enjoyed the 2 times I saw them in Ft Lauderdale.

I have a question for people……..never watched the previous races during the race. I watched the leg documentaries a few years later and i have to say they were so well done. Do they release leg documentaries after the completion of each leg or are those edited and released after the race is completed.
Good show. Big improvement over the first couple of days. Conditions look rough, the speeds are crazy impressive, but man I don’t know if these IMOCAs can stand up to a full lap at this kind of pace.

So they tacked along the Spanish south coast where there have been frequent orca attacks on yacht rudders. Where were they? None seen/heard? No visits from the friendly rudder munching orcas for any of the Ocean Race boats?

So much sail relative to the size of the boat. That speed! All I know is a little bit of sailing on larger three mast vessels where 10 knots is fast…
